Gail and Lynette were incredibly welcoming and their property is absolutely extraordinary. It’s a generous place with generous steward.! Its a total farm-living experience; critters everywhere! Magical. I’d recommend to anyone who appreciates nature and honest livin’, and would absolutely stay there again.
Beautiful farm camping experience
This is such a beautiful place to camp. Gail and his wife are incredibly sweet and helpful, their land is beautiful, and it’s a perfect spot to set up a tent and relax.
We loved the sounds of their animals in the distance - it is not loud of distracting, but it immerses you in a really pretty farm setting.
It was very nice to have a bathroom available to wash up and add a bit of comfort.
My husband and I spent one night on Gail’s farm on our way from Nashville to Colorado. While we weren’t there long, we felt like it was a great little oasis to break up our trip. We had a few hours before the sun went down to meet the dogs, cows and chicken and explore the land. It’s beautiful and we loved our time on the farm!
A farm with integrity
This is a very special place. You get a true farm experience on a family farm. Gail and his wife are excellent hosts; both are welcoming and wonderful people.
The campsite where I stayed was close to the entrance to the farm, but at the end of the day, the site became private, and I found myself cooking out under a dark, starry, Kansas sky.
You hear the farm around you as it changes throughout the evening, night, and morning. The familiar sounds of the cows, sheep, and chickens give way after dark to the howls of coyotes in the distance and Gail's two protective sheep dogs warding them off. Then, of course, the rooster's crows in the morning twilight to tell you the day is beginning again.
The farm itself is quite large, with ponds and hiking trails. The vegetation is diverse.
Campers have convenient access to water, toilets, and a shower.
Gail is one of today's thinking farmers, whose inventiveness and understanding of the ecology of farming has allowed him to join a small but growing group of regenerative farmers who work with the rhythms of nature to produce food.
You witness an entire philosophy at work on this farm--compassion toward people, animals, and the soil make this place unique.
