The RV campsites all have up to 50 amps power.  They can accommodate trucks and campers up to 80 feet in length.  Water is available and if you are staying a long time , we can arrange to have your dark tank drained.  The campground is seven acres and nestled in a valley in the Loess Hills. Once here you can roam the full  170 acres of Horse Creek Adventures.  Activities include - hiking, horseback riding "by appointment only", horse camping,  fishing,  enjoying the wildlife  and viewing beautiful vistas .

Horse Camping-  We welcome RV owners with horses. There are portable corrals, and round pens available. Plus you can enjoy our trails.  A campsite and full use of the horse accommodations is $25 nightly plus $15 for each horse.  We also accommodate horse owners traveling  and needing a stop for one night.

Special Notes:

Horse Rentals:  For children, a short ride accompanied by our wranglers in our arena or for adults, a two hour guided trail ride beginning with an introduction to trail riding. Contact us for more details.

Dog owners:  We are pet friendly at Horse Creek Adventures but it does require that dog owners work with us.  At any given time there are horses and dogs sharing the same space.  Tell us up front that you are bringing a dog and tell us about its size and breed.  Our rule of thumb is small dogs are welcome. Large dogs are on a case by case basis. This is especially important for dogs that are trained to protect their owners.  When dogs are here they must be kept on a leash, "no exceptions"

We are located an hour from Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska,. St Joseph and Kansas City , Missouri are about an hour and half away. Area attractions include Wabaunsee State Park Equine trails. Underground railroad,  Arbor Lodge, Lewis and Clark Center. Iowa's Championship Rodeo in Sidney in August, only five minutes away.

Great place for RV camping and the hiking was excellent. Hard to find challenging hiking in the Midwest but Jack's place wore us out! October is a great time as the colors and the scenery was magnificent. Highly recommended!

A wonderful return visit to this sweet spot in Sidney, Iowa. We arrived just before dark and got settled in time to snuggle in for an early bedtime. Despite the fact that there was clearly a large group at the lodge type site on the property, primitive campers up the hill, guests in a cottage, and one other RV on the property, we felt peace and privacy.

We enjoyed a morning hike, then on Lona's recommendation went to Nebraska City for their Apple Jack Festival. Great historical town, and a lovely lunch, then on to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. The docent there was so enthusiastic and knowledgable!

We popped over to Sidney next, and enjoyed the combination art and liquor store- stocking up on both liquid refreshment and goodies to bring home.

That evening we cooked over a lovely fire with the wood Jack had graciously delivered earlier.

This property is a gem- wonderful hiking trails. Multiple quaint towns and venues within a half hour, as well as a state park and multiple historical sites. I had visited about a year and a half ago, and could see many improvements to the RV sites. I highly recommend this property!

Best. Fishing. Ever. We had some of the best large mouth bass fishing I have experienced in the Midwest. Lona was a great host and extremely accommodating. It's about 6/10ths of a mile to the pond and might take you about 20 mins to walk, but Lona was always on call to shuttle us to and from the pond in her side-by-side.

The RV sights are on a slope. Bring plenty of leveling blocks, so you can get level. There are water and electricity hook-ups for each site. It was not a busy weekend when we were there, but I could see how the spots could feel a little tight if it was full.

Great campground! Great hosts! They went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable and had everything that I needed. The property is beautiful! Great hiking trail. Lona even arrange a trail ride on horseback for me. I had a restful, enjoyable stay. I definitely want to return and stay in one of the cabins. The views from the cabins are amazing! I’ll be back!!

Beautiful property, lush green trees and so peaceful! We had our pick of the RV sites as we were the only ones there on our night. Lona met us upon arrival and was super nice. Took an evening walk up the hill and saw the views. We drove the Loess Hills Scenic byway to get there, so glad we found Horse Creek adventures and had the chance to stay.

Hosts were fantastic- unfortunately there was no shade at the campsite. When we walked the trails to the pond we were not able to get to the water to cool off after an hour hiking in the very hot sun.

Pulled up on a hot June afternoon and Lona greeted us, took us to a nice shaded and breezy site for our tent in her all wheel mule. She got us water and wood, we had a pleasant night on top of the wonderful loess.
