This site is a wooded, secluded spot located on the Yellow River. Please come and enjoy our private fishing pond or Yellow River edge for fishing. There is much wild life to see as well such as wild turkey, deer, turtles, ducks and geese. We have many farm animals but we really like to feature our Highland cattle, that are always visible to watch from several of the campsites. Children always enjoy a prearranged visit to our farm area to see the baby calves, goats chickens and pigs. Enjoy a stroll thru our mowed wooded pathways. Cool off in the ice cold shallow creek. Sit back and relax by the river. Camp in privacy under the mature trees, along the rivers edge approximately 1/4 of a mile off of the road. For our swimming enthusiasts, visit the lakeside beach of Lake Maxinkuckee just 6 miles from the site. While your there enjoy a ice cream cone from the original Root Beer stand or an iced coffee from the downtown Cafe. This quaint little town also features one of the oldest military boarding schools still operated. Enjoy a stroll around the grounds and pathways along with the summer students ayCulver Militarily Academy.

Very friendly and personable hosts! Loved the secluded site on the river. Kids loved the farm tour and meeting all the 2 & 4 legged hosts! Small fishing pond was perfect for kids! Will definitely be booking a return trip in the future!
Peaceful beautiful camping
Beautiful spot right by a gentle river. Got to pet goats, cows and collect eggs. Also plenty of low-impact hiking. Janet and John were great hosts, very friendly. As a bonus their dog Ringo was a hoot!
Janet was a great host. She welcomed us when we arrived, showed us around, and had the campsite fully prepared for our stay. The pond was great for fishing. The kids also enjoyed stomping around in the nearby stream that empties into the Yellow River. I would recommend this spot to anyone.
Camping oasis with cows!
Our stay was incredible. The site is very secluded and right on a beautiful creek with a convenient and super clean composting toilet. We loved watching the stars at night and seeing the fog roll in in the morning. We stayed here during a trip to Indiana Dunes National Park which was only an hour away, making this a perfect location. The site is located on a farm, and you are able to walk around and see the adorable highland cows and goats. The host was so helpful and kind, and even took some extra time to let me meet some of their cows and feed them an evening treat. 10/10 would recommend for a unique and quiet camping get away!
Fun weekend camping with the cows!
My sister and I decided to take a trip and meet in the middle (we live several states apart) and we were lucky enough to end up here! We had so much at this site! It was absolutely beautiful! Watching the cows from our tent was definitely a highlight to the trip! Janet greeted us to show us around and brought fresh water! Our dogs had fun walking the trails with us and playing in the creek. Definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance! Hopefully we can meet up here again sometime! Thank you Janet for having us!
