Was a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city! Gracious and accommodating host with some lively goats and some wonderful four legged neighbors. 10/10 would camp again! And if you are in town on a Thursday they have a stage ready to rock With live music!!
Nicky was amazing and makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive. She is very generous and the farm is an absolute blast. Great place to stay for any venture to Chicago.
Nicky blew my mind!
If you’re in for an adventure, this is the place! The location is perfect. This city is easily accessible by bike or the CTA. Plenty of night life near by as well. Nicky was an amazing hostess. I can’t wait to come back!
Don't overthink - just stay here :)
I absolutely love staying with Nicky! This past trip was my 2nd time staying on the farm. It is easily accessible, and Nicky and her neighbors are more than happy to let you know about great spots to explore in the area. The farm itself is super cute and well-maintained. I love the goats :) You have the opportunity to spend some time having fires at the fire pits; there are plenty of spots to charge your phone; and spending time with Nicky having a drink or a chat was a real treat. I highly recommend The Vaudeville! Urban Farm and hope to stay there more in the future!
I cannot explain the magic of this place. Nicky is funny and kind and surrounds herself with the best people. Plus goats! Automatic smiles. Damn I love those goats.
We’ll return again and again.
Crazy good times!! gdtimz!
We had an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! Nicky and family were so welcoming. We loved the goats and chickens and farm fresh eggs!! And fun around the campfire. In the words of the host…
Day of arrival the host mentioned we could not check-in until 10:30pm. At 2:00am I asked the host how long the sing along, didgeridoo and drums would be playing next to our tent (her listing says music typically can go until 11:30pm and we didn’t ever ask her to stop the music, just wanted an expectation of when we could sleep). Her text response (below) to me was a better explanation of what to expect at Vauderville! Urban Farm Fun than the listing states.
Hosts text response: “It is "typically". But it also says there are pop up music events. We don't expect you to book with us but if you do so, you do it with the knowledge (which we have spelled out in the listing) that many different and amazing things may occur. We had a world class musician come through which was a one in a wild moon opportunity and a gift to all who had the opportunity to hear. You have the option to book your accommodations anywhere. While we are pleased and grateful you chose us, we are explicit about what you may encounter. If the very explicit, up for grabs situations aren't within your comfort zone, you should book other accommodations rather than bend the experience of many to the wishes of few. We also don't have to let our space be available. And if people abuse the opportunity and privilege, it will cease to be available. You are guest at our discretion. We aren't obligated to host you beyond the explicit parameters or our listing. Please be good Stewarts of the openness of others to open their environments to you. It's not an entitlement.”
A slice of home in chicago
This was the most amazing place to stay for our weekend in Chicago. Nicky was an A+ host and so incredibly accommodating. I won’t be staying anywhere else when I come back to Chicago. Love the farm and the energy there. Also shout out to Chris, Scott and Kimo!
