Quiet Countryside exceeded our expectations. It was only about 5 minutes from the interstate and easy to find. We received a warm welcome from Jo and her husband on arrival. We fell asleep looking at the sun set over the beautiful pond and when we woke up the full moon was reflecting across the water. What a restful and pretty spot……don’t hesitate to book for yourself.

Great stay! We really like the Hipcamps with single sites. Jo and Leon are wonderful hosts. They have put a lot of thoughtful touches into their site: 30-amp electrical, level gravel site, covered area adjacent to site with sink and running water, garbage can, multiple chairs, Coleman fire pit with ample fire wood. We stayed two nights and had a beautiful sunset one night. The other night was pouring rain but the fire pit still worked well. Jo and Leon are friendly and conscientious hosts. We would definitely recommend their Hipcamp.

We did laundry at Vandal Wash in Vandalia, which is a clean and well-run laundromat. We also had an excellent lunch at Baan Thai in downtown Vandalia. We loved their spicy fried calamari and fresh spring rolls.

The spot is great, very flat space to park any size rv, carport covering for hanging out in. Pond has frogs, and fish and other life. Hosts were very hospitable and pleasant. We would stay there again.

Great flat and very quiet site for our tent next to a very picturesque pond. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners, who also provided excellent facilities such as a bbq, seats and table to eat at and enjoy the views, as well as firewood to use. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Jo and Leon were amazing hosts! The location was perfect for being right off the highway. Parking our trailer was easy with a gravel flat driveway. Pet friendly! And we plan to come back again, wanted to stay longer! They go the extra mile for their guests.

Awesome quiet little place with amazing hospitality! Our day had not gone as planned and we didnt arrive until almost 10 oclock at night not only were they completely understanding but they waited up and had a fire going and the lights on for us when we arrived. After giving a rundown on the place they informed us there would be coffee ready in the morning that we were more than welcome to help ourselves to. It was so nice not to have to dig our stuff out since we were just staying for the 1 night. My boyfriend enjoyed fishing in the pond in the morning, caught 2 crappie in the first 5 minutes! Hosts were amazing and we had some great conversation with them. Very nice and personable, even our dog didn't wanna leave them. We will definitely stop back if we are back in the area and hopefully for a longer stay next time!

Besides providing an idyllic, scenic, comfortable campsite, when we had a flat tire on the camper on a Sunday of a three-day weekend, she was very helpful in suggesting tire businesses The campsite is by a pretty little pond and includes electricity, a covered picnic table and smoker grill, a fire pit with wood and a clean porta-potty. We enjoyed talking to Jo and her husband and would definitely stay there again.

Just spent a lovely weekend at Jo and Leon’s property. They are friendly and gracious hosts!! They have thought of everything to make your stay stress free - electric hook up, water nearby, outdoor enclosed toilet, tables, chairs, firewood. EVERYTHING! The carport was wonderful as it rained all day Saturday but we were still able to be outside. We caught lots of fish from the pond and our dog loved to swim and be able to run free. Try the smash burger at Copper Penny and the best bait shop Sportsmen Boutique! All you need is close by and we still felt away from it all! Thank you Jo and Leon! We will be back!
