Description

Electrical outlets, huzzah! Literally, the only campground to offer electric hook-ups in the Clearwater National Forest, Powell Campground is a popular, heavily trafficked string of modern campsites that line the riparian wilderness of Lochsa River. And, located within walking distance of the like-named lodge, you can even have a catered dinner at the area’s lodge sit, just an earshot from Powell Ranger Station.

A rather unique USFS campground, and not just because some (not all) sites have electricity. Many are HUGE. Some have as many as three tables, and even benches around a quite large firepit. Thus it's popular for family events and such.

Additionally, the sites are very private. Although within earshot of the highway, traffic is almost non existent after dark. Tons of historical trails and dirt roads nearby, and the Lochsa River and Lodge within a short walk.
