Description
Bruneau Dunes Campground is situated alongside the largest sand dune in all of North America. Standing a staggering 427 feet, the small mountain (as it’s often been referred to) just appears seemingly out of nowhere from the otherwise flat, desert-like conditions surrounding the campground. The area’s reservable campsites are also within close proximity to the neighboring observatory, one of just two in the state.

I did not get to stay here as it was full on a 3 day weekend, definitely recommend booking way in advanced. However, during our day trip got to use ammenties like clean restrooms and water spiggots to fill our big jugs. Thanks Brunaeu!

We didn't get to stay more than a night on our way to Yellowstone from Oregon but it was a unique, dry landscape with the lake close by. I definitely want to go back and sled/board down the sand dunes! Sunset was amazing.
