Description

Located on the shores of the Sage Hen Reservoir, Cartridge Ridge Campground sits below a canopy of forest trees that include Ponderosa pine, Engelmann spruce, Douglas Fir and grand fir. Sage Hen Reservoir Trail is a four mile loop around the lake which gives you instant access to a hike with beautiful vantage points, fishing spots and wildlife watching like deer, elk, black bear, goshawk, woodpeckers, and boreal owls. Visitors can snack on berries and mushrooms that are ripe for the picking. Just be sure to educate yourself on what is edible. The USDA Forest Service has put together a quick video on the camp here.
