A host made us feel welcome and right at home when we arrived. My husband and I enjoyed staying here for three nights. This was a great location to explore the South Point area and Volcanoes National Park. The cabin was super cozy with a nice little deck to eat meals on. The loft was a nice place to enjoy coffee with views all the way to the ocean.
While we found it fine with good directions, we too recommend getting there before dark if you can because of the semi-rural nature of the neighborhood.

Nice cabin, surrounded by cats, chickens, a duck and the occasional nightly pig. Different kinds of exotic fruits on the land. The living room, kitchen, toilet and shower are all in open space (but covered for rainy days). It gives a really nice vibe. The host is super chill. We loved the entire atmosphere. Please realise this is Hip(pie) camp, not Airbnb.

Our stay was so magical! Both the owner of the site and the host were incredibly communicative and made us feel comfortable and welcomed. The property is beautiful, albeit a tiny bit confusing to navigate if you arrive after dark. Overall, such a wonderful stay with cute little cats and chickens running about.

A few small notes of caution to consider:
- the road to the site is off road and rough for about a mile before arriving, be gentle with you rental vehicles
- the property is solar powered (yay!), which means power cut out intermittently at night, so be wary of storing anything super perishable in the communal kitchen fridge
- if you are sensitive to smell, consider bringing your own blanket/towels; they are certainly clean but just had a bit of mustiness that I couldn’t get past with my sensitive nose (my partner said he didn’t notice it, however)

Definitely worth a stay. :-) thank you for everything

If you want a cookie cutter plaster and cardboard vacation with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, this isn’t for you. If you want to experience the true and absolute beauty of nature with all of the magic of this universe, you may want to reserve a trip before your friends find this treasure chest. If they find it, I hope they are good at sharing. If you open your heart to the people and the island, you will feel at home (probably more at home than home) and you will make this world a better place but please, please, please, be respectful to everyone and everything that makes up this sanctuary and when I say sanctuary, I mean the islands. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE if you have issues with honesty or if you don’t have a soul or if you are just a piece of $hit. Mahalo to Wendy, her son (the sun) and Anthony (Yarr!!!) for an unforgettable stay. I want to say thank you to their beautiful neighbor Greg. Thank you Carolina for passionately inviting us to the volcano. We went and I am sorry we missed you. I can’t thank the island community enough. Thank you to the beautiful Hawaiian people for allowing us into their home. I am thankful. Let us all be careful where we walk. Aloha!!!

I loved the silence, the wonderful sunrise from the cabin.

The grounds are as described in the listing, the kitchen deserves a special mention , it has everything you need to prepare a quick snack of gourmet move.

The hosts met us on arrival , super friendly and ever so helpful with the Hipcamp and gave us info on places and things tondo in the area.

This place is truly magical. Open air living with a very welcoming organic and natural feel. The cats and chicken greeted us and our host was gracious and helpful. I felt relaxed for the first time since landing in Kona. The buildings are lofted and the toilet is composting. Everything is homey and earthy and I felt more healthy when I was there. If you want to slow down and relax mid trip , this is it

I absolutely loved my stay at Wendy’s place. This was my first time traveling in a plane alone and as soon as I arrived at Wendy’s I was made to feel at home. Wendy dose a great job with cleanliness, aesthetic, and over all care for the property. She did a great job at explaining everything and making sure I was all set and comfortable. I slept great

Very quiet little cabin, Cody was very friendly and generous, recommended to stay here to unwind a couple nights and see green sand beach or cliff jump on south Point.

We loved how secluded the place is. The cabin is more than expected. Solid and comfortable. The outdoor kitchen and living space is great. Cody the caretaker is an instant friend. Enjoy!
