Come stay with us on our little farm in Kaimu, a rural and coastal area near some of the newest land on the planet. What was once a lot of bare rock is now lush land as we've worked hard to build soil and grow gardens over the many years we've been here. Pitch your tent in one of our designated spots and harvest citrus and other seasonal fruits from the many trees we've planted. You'll have access to an outdoor kitchen that is equipped with a 2-burner stovetop, refrigerator, sink, plenty of cookware and utensils. We have tons of herbs growing on the land that you're welcome to use. You'll also have access to a bathroom with flush toilet, bidet and sink as well as a shared outdoor shower. We have animal friends including two older dogs and eight chickens that will gladly welcome you. Also, please enjoy our butterfly garden that we planted years ago and watch our beautiful resident Monarch butterflies.
Though we are new to Hipcamp, we are not new to hosting visitors. We've hosted dozens of people over the years from artists to musicians to tech people wanting some quiet. We are also travelers, ourselves. We live here on property and are here to answer any questions should you need something.
Kehena beach is a short drive away where you will sometimes see wild dolphins swimming in the bay. We are about a 25 minute drive from the only geothermally heated water in the islands. The closest town of Pahoa is about 10 minutes away. Just around the corner is Uncle Roberts Market where a farmer's market happens every Saturday morning. Here you can find local produce, freshly baked goods, arts and crafts and listen to live music.
