Farm camping: georgia style
Tracy and his farm are full of personality. I am grateful I stumbled upon it for a last minute one night stay that turned into two nights because I knew there was more to explore here. The camping area is situated in a clearing on the side of the property. There is a huge fire pit and plenty of fire wood that is generously provided. There is a covered pit toilet, outdoor showers, and communal kitchen if needed. There is also a beautiful pond as well as all the workings of a full farming operation that they are building out.
Tracy is full of stories from his traveling days and is proud of everything they have going on at the farm. Ask him to show you around and he will jump at the chance, or if you want to experience some “Georgia Quiet” as he calls it, this is a great place for that too (apart from the roosters that is). The location is somewhat remote but there is nature of all kinds to explore around the area and beautiful coastal towns within driving distance.
This is a unique and authentic farm camping experience full of character and characters. I hope you have as much fun here as I did.
Better than any airbnb, visit here!
Wonderful, calm, quiet, peaceful and welcoming.
Tracey was very helpful, friendly and genuine. Would reccomend this to anyone who wants a great spot off the hustle and bustle where you can center and ground in a marvelous and beautiful location.
I was traveling from Philly to Florida. I stopped here for the night. Wow! This is well set up. The outhouse was super clean and well supplied. The fire pit is Huge and plenty of fire wood available. A little dock you can fish off of. The house is in view, but was fine. The best for me was the nice hot outdoor enclosed shower with the open vine covered roof by the house, which also had supplies if needed. That was perfect!!!!! You can go thru a few before you find the really good ones, this is a really good one, and cost me $13 bucks, WHAAAAAATTT?!!!!
I had such an amazing time at Catawba! The hosts were so sweet, and I had the opportunity to meet some amazing people and go on great adventures!! I would definitely recommend this hipcamp!!
Quaint farm escape
This was a quaint farm with lots of different birds in the coop, a pretty pond to hike around near a cool open bonfire setup. I was expecting just a little pad to throw up my tent, but this was so much more! Cool setup for travelors to enjoy a private campspot in the woods. Great hosts and another traveler was visiting with their tiny home!
Catawba organic farm is fabulous. Tracy is a wonderful host and will show you around their beautiful property with some of the most gorgeous chickens I’ve ever seen. The eggs were delicious. We would definitely have stayed longer if we didn’t have to get back on the road. If you want to experience the essence of hip camp, this is it! Highly recommended.
