Delightful little farm
OK, for starters I need to say that our visit was made challenging by a TREMENDOUS amount of rain, which obviously is not the fault of our host. The rain also flushed out lots of fire ants, which were annoying and painful.
But our host, Veronica, was wonderful. She scouted for the driest place to put our tents. She brought poison for the fire ants. She help set up showers and was just generally helpful and responsive.
One recommendation that I'd have for anyone is to make the farm itself part of the destination. We had a tight schedule of other activities and didn't get to explore the farm, fish or use any of their recreational activities. It really seems to be a delightful place. Also, buy the soap. The soap is awesome.
And this is a horse rescue farm. The horses will come to meet you. So will the ducks. I have to lead a horse out of the campsite. He was sweet, but curious, and he was begging for treats!
A unique camping experience
We had a very memorable time at Celestial Farms. It was a unique experience and I'm happy I did it. If you're considering it, let me make some things clear. This is a farm. You are basically just setting up camp on the farm which is part of the charm, but my 13 year old daughter was surprised and put off by the smell. It didn't bother me, though. It had just rained a lot before we arrived so it was very muddy, but we did find a dry area to camp. The bathrooms are not really regular bathrooms, but out-house or port-a-potty. Also "shower" was an outdoor tub with (old-fashioned type) camp shower... We only stayed one night, so didn't use the shower, but if you want to stay longer, keep that in mind. It is very basic camping, but for one night, it was fun for us. We loved seeing the horses, ducks, chickens, bunnies and other animals.
We loved our time at Celestial Farms, our kids (4 & 6 yr old) had a great time with all the animals and helping out with feeding them!
Everybody at the farm was great with all the (local) kids that visit Celestial Farms during the week, in the weekend we had the farm to ourselves
Gorgeous farm and farm animals!!
WOW!! This farm has so many spectacular views and was so enjoyable to explore. Veronica was warm and welcoming, the horses were too haha! You can tell all of the animals are deeply loved by how friendly they are! Outhouse is clean, the well water from the hand pump sink is cool and clean! All in all an amazing place. I don’t live far so I will definitely be back sometime!
This is a real gem. A garm animal rescue and education center. Filled with a variety of farm animals that have been rescued.
Verobica and her staff are doing a valuable service in this serene setting. Several ponds lots of animals and nature. A great find with several welcoming camp sites
We just spent the weekend there and will be back ASAP! They were incredibly nice and very accommodating. The campsites were beautiful, and my kids loved having access to the multiple playgrounds and to the rescue itself, especially being in eyeshot of the horses grazing most of the day. They had plenty of -safe space- to run and play that we do not get at home. I unfortunately arrived pretty late in the afternoon my first day, and even then there was someone greeting and giving us the rundown of the site and the farm/rules. The campsites are in range of some visiting animals, but I found most weren’t interested in our space and did their own thing. The land/area is really beautiful and well kept.
Playful, safe and easy.
This is a wonderful place. Hosts were super friendly, easy going and attentive to my needs and wishes. It's easy to be here in whatever capacity you want. Im a plasterer and I swapped some of my bagged clay for their local clay that they helped me to dig out of their field. The farm is quite busy with visitors during the day but there are plenty of parking possibilities that would provide a more private experience. It's a playful space and I also felt very secure here.
