Great little campsite!
We had a very nice time sitting around the fire and laughing...a lot. The yurt was great for three people and I slept like a baby on the air mattress. We had cool weather, so it was perfect. The hostess...Jane was very friendly and greeted us when we arrived. They had all we needed, so we only took food, clothing, and comfortable chairs. The compost potty was clean. The shower is a hose and would have been fine if it were hanging like a shower head, otherwise, it was a little hard to maneuver. There's not a lot of campsites, so we felt like we had it all to ourselves. It was the perfect getaway for three ladies who haven't camped in years!
My partner and I took a break from the brisk northern Minnesotan winter for a couple weeks to stock up on some Vitamin D in Florida. We love unique stays and prefer spots that are closer to camping with sprinkles of creature comforts. Our host, Jane was incredibly helpful and approachable; she greeted us upon our arrival and oriented us to the property.. The Garden Yurt was the ideal spot for vagabonds like us- wanting the nature connection, but a nice bed and a way to charge phones at night; I got phone service and was comfortable at the little table using my hotspot, completing some work/school projects, also. It was chilly during the evenings (about 30F), but had the option of renting a lil space heater: definitely took the edge off, and actually got too warm in there for us and just turned it off. The yurt stays surprisingly warm, and definitely heats up comfortably during the day this time of year. I also recommend getting the stack of wood if you’re planning on cooking there- for the grill fireplace. Definitely take advantage of looking up at night- the stars are incredible; and the solar lights around the property gives the whole place a mystical fairy-vibe. During the day, take advantage of walking the trails a bit- there’s some beautiful artwork hidden around the property. Would definitely recommend to others, and would stay again!
Perfect stay for my family
My family had a great two night stay here in the wild garden yurt. We had flown in and wanted to camp but couldn’t bring much on the plane with us. Our camp had everything we needed. Even supplied us with some great coffee. The first night we had some late night rain and stayed dry in the yurt. The second night got very cold but we had enough blankets, jackets, etc to sleep well. It was a very relaxing stay and would totally do it again.
Perfect for a girls' trip!
Jane was such an amazing host! The yurt was very spacious and as pictured. We had practically everything we could have needed, and we definitely overpacked! It was a very peaceful getaway.
