Come spend some time with the goats at Goat House Farm (and the chickens and a pig!).  Kayaking and hiking right off the property! Beautiful sunsets on the lake!

We are in a rural area of Tallahassee, along the Florida Big Bend Scenic Byway and surrounded by the beautiful Lake Talquin State Forest. Great fishing and hiking trails and beautiful sunsets. Two Trailwalkers and one Trailtrotter trail are just minutes away.  There is also a 10-mile Lines Bike Trail.  See trail maps in our photos!

We are about twenty five minutes from FSU stadium - straight shot! We love to host students and parents!

Come enjoy a tiny house experience on our farm surrounded by nature!   Immerse yourself in beautiful simplicity on the edge of Lake Talquin State Forest at the lake.  Pick a salad from our garden (when in season) and cook some fresh eggs for breakfast in our outdoor kitchen.

Your own little coop includes a comfy double bed with quality linens, heat, and AC.  It sleeps two only or maybe two and an infant/toddler. The lake is just a short walk from the door.

We provide water, wifi, and fresh fruits and veggies for the picking when in season.  We also have several extras from the farm you can request when you book such as our famous farm fresh biscuits with honey butter, milk bread, eggs, fudge, and goat milk soap.

We have a small outdoor kitchen area with grill, stove, utensils, and picnic table. Basic cooking ingredients are provided (oil, salt, pepper, etc) and you are welcome to pick from the garden when in season.

There is also a common room with sofas, fridge, microwave, tv, coffee, french presses, and tea kettle.

We have a small rustic bath house with hot shower and a composting toilet. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, and fresh towels provided.

Common areas and bath house is about 25 feet away.

Check-in/Check-out time may be flexible depending upon concurrent bookings! We ask that you clear your cabin by 11am, but you are welcome to spend the remainder of the day hanging out with the goats, kayaking, or just relaxing.

Dogs welcome at all sites, but are not allowed the pasture.  Dogs must be leashed during the day when our chickens free range.  Please bring bags and clean up after your companion animals! We do charge a $10 cleaning fee for pets in our cabin.  Please add that extra when you book.

Private and group goat yoga classes may be available during your stay. Check the extras under our booking for schedule and to book a ticket.  You can also add milking lessons!

Please arrive before 7pm. Remember, there is an hour time difference if coming from the west. Late arrivals interfere with our milking and chore routine and we cannot stop milking to show you around. Farm folks also hit the hay pretty early! Please do not book and then tell us you will be arriving late. Thank you.

Feel free to message if you have questions!  The herd looks forward to meeting you!!

Things you should bring:

A Lantern

Refillable water bottles

Sunscreen if you plan to be out on the lake

Bug Spray

We are located at the end of a bumpy 3/4 mile dirt road off Highway 20/Blountstown Hwy on the lake.  Part of the road is paved, but most is dirt and we are prone to flooding after more than a couple of days of hard rain.   We have several cars in the neighborhood that don't have a problem on the road, but - full disclosure!  If bumpy dirt roads bother you, our road in is not for you.  We - and most of our guests - think it is worth it.

We offer a 10% discount for FFA, all goat and dairy association memberships, and 4H, just send your number when you book.

Feel free to message if you have questions!  The herd looks forward to meeting you!!

The goats were adorable and the host was super kind and accommodating. It felt like we were staying with friends at their amazing farm. The little coop was perfect for us and our dog. The lake is beautiful and literally just behind the little coop. There are free range chickens, farm cats, peacocks, and of course adorable goats. The goats are so friendly they walk right up to you. The pig Houdini made me crack up - he’s hilarious. There’s an amazing common area where you can play board games and chill and we could put our ice packs in the freezer to get cold again. 100% look forward to staying here again when we have more time.

Second visit, loved it again! We were up at breakfast time and the stampede of cuteness was a sight to behold. 31 goats I believe she said as she greeted them all by name. They are so sweet and friendly, we can't wait to go back. Also, the proximity to Tallahassee is fabulous. 30 minutes to all the great food a major university town offers!

We loved our stay at the goat farm! Highly highly recommend to any animal lovers. We got eggs & biscuits as well and again I would definitely recommend the add-ons. The animals are well taken care of and are happy and friendly. You can hang out with the goats pretty much whenever you want.

What a perfect, tiny cottage located in the perfect little nook between adorable animals, amenities, and a gorgeous lake for us to canoe upon. It’s also so impressive how everything was so tidy and clean, despite all the animals running around, too! My partner and I spent Christmas here, and it was the best decision we could have ever made.
We are so grateful for the incredible hospitality and engaging conversation.
ALL our friends have heard us sing your praises!

The goat farm was fabulous. MELISSA was very informative. My six year old granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Her homemade biscuits and honey butter are a thing of beauty. It was wonderful for my granddaughter to see beehives and then enjoy their honey. The coop is exactly as pictured. It is convenient to the bath house and common area but also a bit private. It was quite hot while we stayed. the air conditioner did a good job of keeping the coop cooled off.

The chicken coop was cozy, adorable and comfy. The goats are all super cute and the people helpful and friendly. Definitely a great place for kiddos. Request the fresh made biscuits, they were delicious! I'll be staying with Melissa and her goats again.
