If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Over the Halloween weekend my partner and I had the pleasure of getting out of the house and camping on Gayle's horse pasture! Waking up each morning and seeing a horse on the other side of the field is quite magical. Honestly, it will put a smile on your face as you say, "Awe look, it's a horse!"
Now being that it's a HORSE farm, and you're CAMPING on a HORSE PASTURE, you might spot a horse pie here or there. Just don't put your tent there in that ONE SPOT, not a big deal. The field is pretty clear to begin with. So reading those other reviews from people just make them sound so "bougie". (Pro tip for when you go camping anywhere, put down a tarp first, then build your tent.)
But let me tell you, if you're an animal lover, this place is great! Aside from horses, there are chickens, a very friendly happy dog, and the softest cats to venture that farm. Honestly, every time we would walk to the bathroom, we were greeted by a cat (with a cute little bell) that would escort us back to our tent.
Gayle's place is located about 10 minutes from all the fun hustle and bustle of downtown St. Augustine. We had a blast and wish we had stayed just a bit longer. Thank you Gayle for having us and we hope to plan another trip again!
Nice secluded little spot. We had a blast. We werent looking for anything fancy, just wanted to get away for the weekend and this spot was perfect. Very close to all st augustine has to offer, but also very private.
Close to at Augustine beach and downtown area. Although the property was ehh. Grass was way overgrown. Horse poop everywhere. Fire ants everywhere as well. Didn’t use outdoor showers due to the distance and the swarm of mosquitoes that would follow. Port of potty on property was clean. I’d suggest your own pot. Gayle was at least responsive.
