Good times with nice people
I really enjoyed my stay at crazy 8 ranch. The owner Marci rescues horses and offers trail rides. Everyone was very nice and it was a memorable experience being back on a horse as I hadn’t been since I was a little girl. There was little to no noise after dark and you will have an absolutely amazing view of the stars from anywhere on the ranch.
I believe there are only 1 or 2 RV sites available with water and electricity hookups, neither was available so I was dry camping on the ranch right next to the horse pens and pool which I didn’t mind at all. It was a new experience for my pups too as they had never seen a horse that close up before.
The road there is VERY bumpy so be careful coming in as there are lots of potholes. Only about 2 miles from the nearest gas station and about 15 mins from dining. If you have a larger rig you might want to check with her before you book to make sure there’s room.
Cons were no bathrooms or showers on site so if your RV isn’t self contained like mine you may have an issue. There’s also horse poo everywhere but that’s expected on a horse ranch.
Surrounded by horses
We enjoyed our stay at Crazy 8. There was water and electric available by our camping spot. We enjoyed all the animals and were allowed to feed them. We also did a bonfire one evening and it was very enjoyable. We were offered the opportunity to ride the horses, but we're not pressured. Kids would love this.
An awesome experience!
This was better than expected! Our host(was) was gracious, generous, and so friendly!. Our children enjoyed the animals, and we were grateful to have a hot shower in the morning! Would stay again and again ❤️
We had a great time staying at Crazy 8. Some rain foiled our plans for a trail ride but my kids loved feeding the horses carrots, taking a swim, and enjoying the other animals.
Close to town but fast enough away
It was a great place to stay, especially because it was my first camping trip in years. I was hoping for something a little more remote, but due to the weather the outlying sites were too damp and with Sally and all the rain & change in the weather it was too cool to swim. I was right up by the horses and pool and it turned out to be quiet and peaceful even with them doing trail rides. It was a great place to spend a low key couple of days. Just what I needed.
Peaceful spot, hidden treasure
Staying at Crazy 8 is great! Our hosts were friendly and helpful, the horses are well-kept and friendly, we had access to a fridge and a dryer, a pool, cats and goats and dogs to pet, a grill, and a beautiful trail ride! I highly recommend this site and will absolutely camp there again!
