Trapper Arts Camping Retreat

7 sites · RVs, Tents22 acres · Cornell, WI
Trapper Arts Retreat in NW Wisconsin has (3) waterfront sites and (1) wooded site. Located on a 1/4 mile long dead-end road (except Bob Lake West) on a 90 acre clear water no-wake lake. Only 5 minutes from the Chippewa County Forest for hiking/biking/ATV adventures! SEASONAL NOTE: Starting May 1st the water will be turned on and the row boats will put in! You are still welcome to continue to book our sites if you don't need water or a row boat. Electric hook-ups are always available. The Chippewa County Forest (over 10,000 acres) Hickory Ridge Trailhead is located about 5 miles away. You can enjoy miles of hiking, biking, ATV or horseback riding trails. Trails wind past small lakes and beaver ponds, as well as spectacular vistas and abundant wild life. LIST OF SITES (all of our sites now include a portable toilet, firewood, fire ring, water, power, picnic table and/or chairs). BIRCH Waterfront is named for the beautiful birch trees that frame your view of the lake that also includes soothing evening loon sounds :) It is our medium size campsite with a level gravel and grass pad with lakefront access via the long wooded dock and an included row boat for fishing and boating. EAGLE POINT Waterfront is a favorite because it is the most private, surrounded by trees and is on a elevated waterfront lot with steps down to a dock. This site has a canoe and a row boat and the best spectacular sunset views. The eagle's nest is in a tall pine tree above the steps! BOB LAKE WEST Waterfront is our only site that is not on this dead end road. It is located on the west side of the lake near the boat landing. This site has a bonus small storage shed which could be a cool kids cabin. It is partially wooded elevated site with stunning sunrise views. BOB LAKE WOODED is a non-waterfront campsite for both tents or RV's that has been updated to a level site with power and water and includes access to the lake and a row boat at our common access which is only about 200 yards down the road from this site. This property was previously owned by Trapper Art who was well known in the area and started several successful businesses dating back to 1967 including Art's Snowmobile, Trapper Arts, and Art's Electric which was quite an accomplishment in the Wisconsin Northwoods!

Just over an hour from the Twin Cities and 30 minutes from Eau Claire, Red Cedar Glamping is western Wisconsin’s premier glamping experience. Nestled privately in the forest behind a historic farmhouse, you simply won’t find more scenic views than our bluffs, sitting 50 feet above the Red Cedar River As you arrive, you’ll leave the blacktop behind in favor of a private mowed-grass road leading you behind a historic Amish-built barn and silo that are nearly 100 years old. Dedicated parking spaces for each site give you a reliable and safe place to leave your vehicle while you load up the provided off-road wagon to help haul your gear a short distance along marked trails to your tent site. Wildlife and wildflowers abound as you approach, where you’re greeted by a private cedar porch with two Adirondack chairs. Inside your tent you’ll find an ultra-comfortable queen bed with down comforter, night stands, luggage rack, and a small console table with necessary amenities. Our sites are entirely off-grid, including solar lights and stocked with several gallons of fresh drinking water. Outside, a private fire ring with cooking grate is included at each site. Clean portable toilet facilities are located near the parking area, along with firewood for purchase. - CABIN AVAILABLE YEAR ROUND - CAMPGROUND OPEN May 1, 2024 - AMISH BAKERY OPEN FRI/SAT Tucked in a valley among rolling hills just 70 miles east of St. Paul, discover a stunning sanctuary surrounded by hardwoods, pines and birch groves. Meander a walking trail system through 30 acres of woods and prairie. In 2019, all 10 acres of fields were planted as dedicated Monarch/pollinator habitat. This is a full sensory experience - spectacular celestial nights with serenading hoot owls, frogs, crickets and yips of coyotes in the distance. The honey bees are humming in their boxes, rooster crowing and chickens do their daily forage through the yard and woods. This is a birder's delight with turkey and deer being very common sightings. Our unique greenhouse and pergola are common use areas for all guests to enjoy. The pergola is a large cushioned area providing shade to read a book, charge a device, play cards, enjoy a beverage, eat a meal. Explore the greenhouse production of tomatoes, peppers, and ginger growing along with flowers and other hothouse varieties. Fill water containers, or use the large stainless steel sink and countertops to prep meals or wash up. You will also find a beverage service counter, yard games for use, and any on-farm items for sale in this area- firewood, plants, eggs, honey and produce. Tucked discreetly behind the greenhouse is drop-off for garbage and recycling, and also 1 of 2 ultra clean port-a-potties found on property. *** We're family friendly! Adult occupancy is applied to 12 years and older. There is no occupancy charge/limit for children 11 years of age or under. *** We have 6 sites to offer. Adjacent to the greenhouse is 2 RV (or tent) sites with full water and 30 amp hookups. 2 additional sites accommodate RVs or tents and we have 1 walk-in tent site. This rustic site is the most private - a short distance into the woods behind the greenhouse. Our campground will close Oct 29. Don't let our sleepy little town deceive you. The locals have huge hearts - are generous creatives, with ingenious businesses that spill over with hospitality. Uber local is 2 Amish businesses within a 15 minute walk - a bakery and a woodworking shop! We're happy to direct you to on-farm meat sales, herbal medicinals, goat milk products, home goods, local microbreweries and quilt shop to name a few. Local town events draw huge crowds with live music and fun for all ages. We are so blessed to steward this private oasis and look forward to sharing it with you!
