Freedom Farmstay - simple, back to nature camping for FULLY self-contained travellers. CHILDREN are always FREE... We consider children to be 17 and under, if booking with teens, please list them in the 'children' section of the booking form. Quiet location on acreage in rural Baldivis (within the Perth metro area). We love our little tranquil piece of paradise... our little freedom farm, with it's beautiful natural spaces and menagerie of animals, yet close to lots of local amenities in Baldivis / Rockingham. We're just a 15min drive to the beach and 30mins to Perth city or Mandurah. We can only accommodate a small number of campers, or groups of campers, at any given time.. so you have space, solitude and security for your family/group. You MUST be fully self contained WITH your OWN TOILET. There is NO power available. Clear bore water for small tank fills can be arranged during your stay. NOTE: we do NOT have mains water and constant tap access is not available. Water refills need to be requested and you may need to wait several hours. Sites are in open paddocks with some limited shade available. Dogs are allowed ONLY if kept on lead at all times. Sites 1 and 2: Suitable for small/med vans, motorhomes, camper trailers and MINI-buses. Could fit 3 families if you're with a group. Private site for your family/group only. Site 3 (Families WITH children): Large area that can take all size vehicles including big rigs and full size buses. Could easily accommodate a dozen or so families if you have a big group. This is a share site, so you may be sharing with other families. If you wish to book for a group, book as early as possible. Huge access gap into paddock, approx 15mtrs wide. Site 4: For any sized vehicles. Suitable for up to 3-4 families if camping with a group. This is a share site, so you may be sharing with other families. If you wish to book for a group, book as early as possible. Access gap approx 10mtrs wide. Campfires are allowed from late May, depending on local weather conditions and when the rain starts... Same day bookings are available BUT only BEFORE 3pm... AND you must call/text as soon as you've booked to let me know. WEEKLY DISCOUNT - staying a week? Pay 6 and stay 7. This is not currently available on hipcamp, but if you'd like to stay a week, please just book for 6nights and then send me a message saying you'd like to stay the free 7th night. Important NOTE: This is a WORKING hobby farm and equine property. There are tyres and poles. sand piles, fencing projects underway, etc etc. There are also many free roaming animals - my dog, our chooks, sheep and alpaca.. along with the usually contained horses. If you are looking for manicured, super flat areas or have a fear of animals - this is NOT the place for you. There are also a HUGE number of factors that can affect your stay that I have ZERO control over... The seasons change a lot of things throughout the course of the year: we have snakes (like ALL Aussie bush places) for most of the year, according to their seasons, varying growth stages of grasses (long, short, brown, green and sometimes grass seeds/prickles.. along with some crazy weather (high winds, high temps, storms) on occassion - NONE of which I have any control over.. so if you are a moaning myrtle and any of those things are likely to bother you, please don't come to our property... If you accept that you are staying on a working hobby farm / equine property and that I have no control over nature - then welcome, there is much beauty here for those who have the eyes to see - and as a base to explore the Perth area, we have a pretty convenient spot :)

5 beautiful acres in the Swan Valley with horses, we run a horse rehoming charity from here where all proceeds from hipcamp go to support our facility. Along with plenty of horses, you'll also see kangaroos at certain times and our pet sheep Jamima who thinks she's a horse! A superb property with a winter creek and an open paddock where the horses live. It's very peaceful. There are only two camping sites available on this wonderful property at any time so privacy is assured. There is also a dam on the property so please mind any children with absent swimming abilities. Campfires are allowed during the season, and there is a toilet and shower available in the shed 100 meters from the camping area. Smaller groups booking the campsites will have full access to the toilet and shower. Please note, however, we offer a group camping option for larger groups but those booking this option must be fully self-contained as our facilities are not enough to support a large group. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy here, we kindly ask that you take all rubbish with you when you leave. We also ask that you please do not feed the horses. The property is well located to access many great wineries and cafes in the famous Swan Valley area, some within walking distance. Security here is taken care of by Mr security guard "aka" Smoky our pet dog. He's very safe and timid. If you get a pat from this boy I know you're good, so beware! We are dog friendly here, so you're welcome to bring mans best friend and we also have a secure yard to house any pets if you need a break, so long as they don't hassle the horses. We may also be able to accommodate your horse - please discuss this with us prior to booking. Summer Creek was established in 1884 by Edward Vivian Harvey Keane. Keane was a prominent figure in the development of Western Australia, having constructed over 800km of rail around W.A. The property runs alongside the discontinued railway line, known as the Kep Track / Golden pipeline trail, which is part of the same railway network as the Bibbulmun track. The old winery building was saved by R and A Poulton, after a demolition order was places on it by the Northam shire in 2002. The property is now heritage listed, and the fight to preserve it from main-roads continues. Come along to Karaoke at the Restaurant every Saturday night!!! Our camping set-up is a work in progress so we would appreciate your suggestions and feedback, we now have a cold shower on site. When things dry out we will be able to do more work on the accessibility. Also, stay tuned for our glamping option yet to come :) Currently Adults only, no children. Come and visit us in Mooliabeenee, situated in the beautiful Shire of Chittering. Camper vans, caravans and tents are welcome. Sites are on a slight slope. Our property is located on a working farm with The Hive Café open Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays 10am - 4pm. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A NO-SMOKING FARM. Wake to the sound of the bush and farm animals. This is a very scenic area, with the campsites surrounded by pine trees. Interaction with farm animals. There are roosters that will crow early morning. PLEASE DO NOT CHASE ANY OF THE ANIMALS. Dogs on leash allowed outside only, not inside café. Campfires - (campfires are only allowed when fire bans are lifted). Potable water available on site. Nearest toilet dump site is Bindoon Oval. Recycling Bins are available. Generator noise can disturb other people’s enjoyment of the area and disturb native wildlife and the farm animals, so think about using alternatives. Solar panels and inverters are the best ways to provide power for your must-have devices when camping and can be used anywhere. We do allow generators, but they can only operate strictly between 9am-6pm. Adventure playground onsite for the "older' children and some smaller equipment for the younger ones. All equipment is PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK. Playground Rules: - Adult Supervision required for use - No bare feet, wear proper footwear - Do not use play equipment improperly - No pushing or shoving Free honey tastings are available when shop is open, but please ask and we can arrange a tasting for you. Campers will be held responsible for any damaged caused during their stay. This is a working farm and is running off-grid, so a generator may start from time to time. ****Important Notice Regarding State Bushfire Ratings**** Please be advised that our camp adheres to the state bushfire ratings. In the event that a Catastrophic or Extreme Fire Danger Rating is announced, we may need to temporarily close our campsite. Local Shire and DEFES have very strong rules regarding this, and if lighting of a fire occurs people will be prosecuted by DEFES and the local Shire up to $36000.00 or 3 years imprisonment, -LIGHTING OF SMALL CAMP FIRES IS ONLY PERMITTED DURING OPEN FIRE SEASON MAY TO SEPTEMBER. -No trees are to be cut down if logs and sticks are on the ground these can be used. -If you smoke please place your butts in a sealed fire proof container. Please consider other guest and our neighbours. -Check out of campsite by 11 am. -If a gate is closed, please close it behind you as will find it very hard to catch a animal that has escaped. -Don’t go into animal enclosures without permission from Jane or Marc. -We do an animal handling and feeding experience every morning at 8:30 am, which all guests are welcome to come and feed, sit and interact with the farm animals . -As we are a farm and you will be in our farm animals home, you will have some of our very friendly farm animals come and interact with you during your stay, we ask you to please be kind and friendly towards all of our animals. -You approach all animals at your own risk Please do not feed the animals any food that has not been given to you by Jane and Marc. -Please drive very slowly through paddocks as animals roam freely. -You will be handed a rules and guidelines policy when you arrive which includes an emergency and evaluation plan. Located only a 2-minute drive from the popular Lake Leschenaultia where you can have a swim, take out the kayak, or enjoy one of the bike trails. Drive 5 minutes to downtown Chidlow to indulge in a beer and a meal at the local pub and also visit the local grower's mart to purchase food supplies or alcohol. There are plenty of walking and mountain bike trails to keep you entertained for your stay.

Our family moved to Toodyay 3 years ago after spending 8 years in Kalgoorlie, we dreamt of space to keep animals and raise our children. Avonbrook is ideal with its yearlong Creek and rocky outcrops for our Dexter cattle and Boer goats. We hope to enjoy for many years to come. We have 2 campsites at the moment, site 1 is the smaller of them. There are unfortunately a few ants nests around so please be aware and pitch up anywhere around the site thats best, even on the paddock side if suits... thanks, Sarah PS the cows can be naughty and like to chew cords so keep the gate shut to resist temptation! Hope you enjoy your stay on our land. The best camping near Walyunga National Park guide

About

Located in the hills north-east of Perth, the small Walyunga National Park is easy to reach from the city and is a great destination for day tripping. There’s also a small campsite for travellers who want to stay a night or two. The Avon River runs through the park, providing a peaceful backdrop for picnics, hikes, or more active canoeing and kayaking. It’s also an important site in local Aboriginal culture and history, with one of the largest known Aboriginal campsites around Perth. The Walyunga Campground is the only campsite in the park and has five sites that are suitable for tent and swag camping. Visitors interested in learning more can hike the Aboriginal Heritage Trail, one of several hikes in the park.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. The park’s only campsite, the Walyunga Campground, should be booked in advance online at the Explore Parks WA website. 
  2. Choose your dates carefully as a cancellation fee applies, and is higher in peak season. 
  3. The camping fee must be paid by credit card when booking, but the separate vehicle fee can be paid on arrival in the national park.

When to go

Spring is an especially good time to visit Walyunga National Park because wildflowers bloom, adding colour to the landscape. The park is especially busy during school holidays and on weekends, so visit or camp here mid-week for a more peaceful experience and greater chance to snag a campsite. Note that during and after heavy rain (most common in winter), the rivers in the park can become full and run rapidly through the park. The park is open daily from 8am until 5pm.

Know before you go

  • The toilets at the Walyunga Campground are non-flush pit toilets only. 
  • Generators can be used between 8am and 9pm only. Bring your own firewood as collecting it within the park isn’t allowed.
  • Walyunga Pool and Boongarup Pool are good places to paddle a kayak or a canoe.
  • Dogs and other pets aren’t allowed in the national park.
  • Hikers have several choices within the park, from the 4-kilometre Kangaroo Trail to the 11-kilometre Echidna Trail. Consider hiking with a personal locator beacon (PLB) for extra safety.
