Named one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2023.
An important natural remnant of original fauna and flora in the Wheatbelt, this A class reserve is about 2,200 hectares, and encompasses the Dutarning Range. It is nestled among agricultural land, making it a vital fauna refuge. The ongoing vegetation research, monitoring and fire management ensure habitats are supported for the endangered Woylie, Tammar Wallabies, Numbats, Possums, and Red-tailed Phascogales. Bushwalking, bird watching, wildflower rambles, trail driving and spotlighting or just unwinding are some of the activities you can do. Short stays are available at the Percy Marshall Field Study Centre. This was built in 1963 as the first biological research station and living quarters. The Centre offers dormitory style accommodation (exclusive use of 1 room per family). Two rooms with single bunks only. 6 beds in one room, and 4 in the other. Self contained RV camping is also available, strictly for fully self contained vehicles only. Sites are all unpowered. It is natural bushland camping, all centred around the main facility. Flora and Fauna lists available on request. We had a wonderful nights stay here. The walking trail right next to it is a wonderful walk with markers along the way to keep you on track. Looking forward to our next visit here.

Bunkhouse - Percy Marshall Research Centre
Tutanning Reserve has always held a special place in my heart. I grew up on a neighbouring farm. Being able to go back now and stay at the Percy Marshall bunkhouse is a real treat for me. The solitude and peacefulness is truly wonderful. Immersing myself in the natural unspoiled beauty of Tuttaning pop is such a privilege. The bunkhouse itself is completely self contained and with solar power, is completely off grid. A bonus is being able to get 4g internet connection and being able to recharge the phone. I selfishly don’t want too many people to know about this hidden wonder but I also know there are others who need know about this beautiful place and who will appreciate and care for it while enjoying what it offers.

Spectacular wildflowers & wildlife
Our family of four loved exploring Tutanning reserve and waking up to the songful birds in the morning. We were treated to beautiful carpets of wildflowers and found some amazing, rare orchids. A highlight was bumping into three echidnas along the walk trail.
