The original Harvey Homestead was a "two over two" cabin build in the mid-1860's on over 100 acres. The Harvey's were sawyers and all off the materials in the original cabin were said to have been sawn from logs here on the farm. During the Civil War the original road ran at the edge of the bluff and remnants can be seen near the Ridge Top and Star View camp sites. There is one cemetery located on the property and several other older ones on neighboring properties.
Misty Ridge Farm comprises 45 acres and the original homestead and is located over a half mile off the winding county road. It is a working sheep farm. Depending on the time campers come and what projects are underway, they can watch or even participate in some of the farm activities like bottle feeding orphan lambs, shearing sheep, feeding livestock, grooming horses or cleaning stalls and putting up hay!

Stay at one of the private mountain top campsites on a working sheep farm , each a 5-10 minute walk from the 150 year old homestead. Sites are in grassy meadows nestled against the woods. Sit around the campfire and watch for shooting stars or have a cup of coffee and listen to the sounds of the farm as it wakes in the morning. Watch the mist roll in and the wildlife begin to stir. We regularly see deer, fox, bear, raccoon, possums, ground hogs and are serenaded by coyote.
We love our pets and yours are welcome but MUST remain on leash for their safety and that of our flock. In addition to ~60 sheep, we have horses, a blind pony, miniature donkeys, guardian dogs, and a variety of cats and dogs.
Misty Ridge Farm is located at the very top of Muddy Creek Mountain with its stunning views of the Greenbrier Valley below, but is convenient to historic Lewisburg and White Sulfur Springs and all they have to offer, from wonderful food, shopping, entertainment and the Greenbrier Resort.Stay at one of the private mountain top campsites on a working sheep farm , each a 5-10 minute walk from the 150 year old homestead.
