A respite from the cold and wind
We came on a very cold night (28 degrees) and Linwood and Kathleen let us bring our tent into the horse barn to stay out of the wind. We were so relieved to be warmer at night that we stayed an extra night.
The horses were sweet and accepted our offer of baby carrots. A few even gave good night kisses.
We loved meeting their daughter and three grandkids, as well as their two friendly dogs and very friendly kitty.
We were grateful for the flush toilet and hot water .
We even went into downtown Charleston to see the sights and have a meal.

Overnight stay
This was our stop over on our way. Beautiful farm. We had access to electric and bathroom. Nice level spot. We were in a van and let me tell you, it was the best nights sleep! It was so quiet and peaceful with no cell service. No worries of the phone ringing in the middle of the night. The hosts were so kind and helpful. Remember, this is a working farm. The bathroom is in the barn so you have walk thru past the horses. I loved it! Listening to the horses munch hay is one of my favorite things. Brings peace to the soul. Thank you for offering your piece of heaven for us to start our trip of a lifetime!

Privacy - Clothing Optional
My wife and I are certified Hip Camp addicts, hitting the road with our cherished off-grid custom Airstream trailer, lovingly named "buff." We're not your average travelers, though.
We seek out of the way spots, and you can bet clothing optional sites are at the top of our list. Tan lines? No thanks😎
(If this interest you, you need an RV that operates off grid. Contact the host before you book and agree to a few common sense rules).
So, we found ourselves at Hamilton Farms, and boy, was it an experience! Picture this: a breathtaking farm where the horses were so friendly they gave buff a good lick.
The hosts at Hamilton Farms were absolute superstars, taking care of our every question and need. And let me tell you, as a black and white photographer, I was in heaven! The farm offered a symphony of monochrome magic.
Hamilton Farms embodies the true spirit of Hip Camp—a perfect blend of quirky camping and the chance to mingle with fascinating and welcoming folks. It's these little slices of paradise that keep us hooked on Hip Camp.
To the incredible hosts at Hamilton Farms, thank you for an unforgettable adventure! We're already daydreaming about our next visit to your heavenly slice of land, and thanks for the awesome tips on things to do and see in Charleston which is a short drive from Hamilton Farms.
