Visit Vashon Island and relax on this private 15 acre property. Camp near the bluff, overlooking Puget Sound, walk the trail down to the beach and enjoy 1000 ft. of secluded beach. Please note: There is an additional charge of $25/person/night above the base rate. For some reason hipcamp doesn't automatically add in this charge, so we will request it separately. It must be paid in full prior to arrival to avoid cancellation of your stay. The island boasts great coffee hangouts, galleries, wineries, restaurants (Earthen, The Ruby Brink, The Hardware Store Restaurant), Snapdragon and others. Minglement, the Burton Coffee Stand, and Cafe Olio Vino have great coffee. Thriftway is a great grocery store. The Burton Store is worth a visit if you are coming from the Tacoma/Pt. Defiance ferry as you will pass it on your way to the property. There a galleries, shops and restaurants in the town of Vashon and also in Burton. Vashon Center for the Arts, O-Space and the Chamber of Commerce have events that might be of interest. Bikes, E-bikes, paddle boards and kayaks can be rented from Vashon Adventures and Vashon Bikes.They also rent tents and some camping equipment. Before lighting an outdoor fire, please check with us. There are sometime burn bans for air quality and/or high fire danger. Generally, fires are allowed at the beach below the high tide line and must be put out COLD with water and buried with sand before leaving them unattended. You are responsible for any damage or injuries caused by a fire you start, so please be careful!Camp on Vashon Island overlooking Puget Sound and Mt. Rainier! Walk the forest trails or follow the trail down to our 1000' ft of southern exposure, private beach. Pt. Robinson Lighthouse or Maury Island Marine Park are walking distance away. Roast marshmallow over a beach fire, enjoy amazing sunsets, keep an eye out for humpbacks and Orca! Sea lions, otters and seals swim by. Fish jump and sea birds swoop over the water. Vashon has fabulous restaurants (Earthen, The Ruby Brink, The Hardware Store Restaurant, May's Thai, and more) wine tasting, breweries, galleries, arts performances, and lots of peace and quiet just an hour from Seattle and Tacoma. If you're a UFO buff, check out the Maury Island Incident, which happened right here! Great Spot!

Great spot with everything you need. Perfect view of Ranier over the Sound, and easy beach access down the hill. Fire pit up top with a picnic table, and I think there's one on the beach but I couldn't find it. Vashon is nearby and has a great brewery. To get there, you take a ferry across from University Place and drive roughly 30 minutes to the site. Heading back there soon.

Great View!

Fantastic spot overlooking the sound. Grass is freshly mowed, so camping is very easy. Location is private, and the fire pit and picnic table are great!

Vashon Bluff & Beach

What a beautiful property!! We have stayed at many Hipcamp sites and this is our new favorite. Do not let the cost deter you. There are planes, boats, and wildlife galore to watch from the bluff. Walking distance to the amazing Bird King Troll and Pt. Robinson Lighthouse. Quick walk to the beach for an evening fire. This site will refresh you for the week ahead.

My favorite HipCamp so far!!

Gorgeous spot! Amazing views! Sunsets, Mt. Rainier, Beach, and forest paths all to myself. A perfect Northwest weekend. I wanted to set up camp permanently. A 30 min. bike ride to Dockton Forest for some super fun Mountain Biking. And, it's Vashon, so you can drive around and pick up local eggs, shrubs, and veg to eat and drink. It is so great to have such a beautiful spot to get out of the city and reset. I will be back.
