Honeysuckle Meadery

3 sites ¡ RVs, Tents10 acres ¡ Rainier, WA
Welcome, to the Meadery, we are a working winery with several other interests to investigate as well. Come learn about making Mead. We have an annual cider press in late September or early October as well. Want to learn how to Roast your own coffee bean? Or maybe you are competitive and want to race 132 or 124 slot cars on a Carrera 124 Digital Track. There is also a nice walk in the woods, and if it is hot you can float down the Deschutes River that is very close by. Pitch your tent in a few areas you pick, there are Mountain Bike and Little kid ATV trails around the property as well. For more extensive ATV trails Capital Forest is about 30 minutes away. If you have a Weyerhaeuser permit for the area near me the gate is 2.5 miles away. There is a winery on site and an outside tasting area with a fire pit. Two bathrooms with showers. There are powered and non-powered RV sites. Water is available at the water station but not directly at the camp sites. We are pet friendly. We offer firewood for sale on site, camp fires permitted outside of a burn ban. Guests love staying here: "Dean's acreage is a dream! We stayed there in our motorhome and absolutely loved it. We have two dogs and they are picky about making friends but adored Deans dogs. They are the sweetest and make the camping even more enjoyable. Dean was kind enough to show us his Meadery and the property so we felt comfortable exploring and walking around. We would definitely recommend it for other campers whether you have an RV, tent, van, etc. For reference we comfortably parked our 31 ft motorhome and we were able to hookup to electricity (only available in one spot so inquire with dean!). There is a shower and toilet available for use in a separate building from his home in the backyard."

Forest camping on a huckleberry farm with a salmon stream. 10 acres of permaculture and mycology includes 5 granite fire pits and loop trails with dispersed tent sites. A remote island, naturist beach and kayak at the creek. Parking is limited. Guests love it here: "We stayed two nights at Curley Creek Canyon and loved the experience! Jerrett was a wonderful host and met us upon arrival with great recommendations of places to explore on his beautiful property. The camp sites are clean, private, and have fire pits, and benches provided. We took the roped trail down to the creek (bring gloves its a bit steep) and saw large groups of salmon swim upstream. This time of year is magical with the dropping leafs and lush moss/fungus sightings. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick getaway from the city to connect to nature. Thanks, Jerrett for the experience and look forward to our next visit!"

Dean’s Campground

14 sites ¡ RVs, Tents11 acres ¡ Auburn, WA
We are located in Auburn, Washington 3 minutes off Highway 18. Our location is ideal for those commuting between national parks, from the US / CA border, or a quick overnight to get away from the city. Bears, bobcats, coyotes and more frequent the property. Largely untouched by humans for the last 50 years (after a once-over by Weyerhaeuser), most of the property still serves as an unofficial refuge. We are bordered by King County protected wetlands, backed by a few newer builds, and not super stoked on the new multi-million dollar neighborhood in construction on the other property line. Our history - In 1975 Dean and Barbara Inabnit purchased 11 undeveloped acres from Weyerhaeuser. Dean’s plan to bring two manufactured homes to the property was only shortly delayed by a $20,000 bid per house to have the Coast Guard airlift the houses into place. The only option, it seemed. Dean took his $40,000 and purchased a bulldozer and tractor. Weyerhaeuser granted Dean permission to widen well over 2 miles of a county access road through the forest from the direction of the nearby fire station. He drug the homes through his temporary driveway and finally in 1978, the houses were hooked up to water, sewer, and power. They moved in. He spent the next few years building a logging road as his main drive from Auburn-Black Diamond, sourcing all materials from the land. Dean and Barbara finished raising their family here, and for a while, their grandchildren enjoyed the land, too. Dean is 82 years old. His children and grandchildren return every so often as guests at the campground. As a father / daughter team willing and able to tackle projects, we purchased this property in 2020. Our purchase allowed Dean to relax and retire to the Centralia area with family. We bought his bulldozer and his tractor, and he and his family are happy to know we are continuing their hard work.

Steamboat Meadows

7 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents5 acres ¡ Olympia, WA
Thanks for checking out our little sanctuary, nestled upon 5 acres near the tip of the Steamboat Peninsula. Steamboat Meadows offers campers a stress free and an affordable option. Currently with 5 campsites (only 1 site currently available until we open up the remaining sites on September 15th). Two of the new sites will be much different than anything we've offered in the past. We're working on the finishing touches to "Terrapin Suite", a 640sqft barn structure, yet modern and fully furnished. Terrapin Suite offers incredible views and all the amenities commonly found in a tiny home. The second site coming in the late spring of 2024, is a glamping site with a Canvas Bell tent, queen bed, spring water, rugs, solar power, and electric cook surface. Please note: for the remainder of September we will relocating a few sites to offer a more private and wilderness like experience. Additionally, we want to ensure that our neighbors enjoy the serenity they live here for. This is a space to recreate, but most importantly a space to "get away" and reset. All guests have access to WIFI-, private indoor bathroom with shower, and chill room to relax, charge devices and plan your next adventure. During fire bans, NO FIRES WILL BE ALLLOWED. Propane stoves may be used in the gravel driveway or on tables. Campers are invited to walk the property which has a couple short hiking loops in the back and hammocks for relaxing. Campground offers activities for chill time, which include table tennis, corn hole and a 4 hole disc golf course. On hot days, we also have a misting tent surrounded by fruit trees. During your stay, you'll be in the sweet spot and just 1.5 hours to either Mount Rainer and/or Olympic National Parks. 20 minutes from Olympia, 5 minutes to the local Steamboat General Store. Steamboat Meadows will be closing for the season at the end of September. During our seasonal closure, we will building two new loop trails through the forest and a board walk to better experience the wetlands. Other improvements include, aerial shade structures, locally milled handmade benches, and LED wide angle UV lighting for easy navigation on the property. Please contact us if you have any questions. More photos coming soon. Cheers, Rob
