Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns* Our little piece of paradise is nestled quietly in a valley in Wulgulmerang East in East Gippsland. With 111 acres of primarily untouched native bushland to explore, we know this land needs to be shared to appreciate the beauty. With two creeks meeting and Goodwin Gorge on the property there are plenty of natural delights to enjoy. Approximately 2kms down the road is the convergence of the mighty Alpine and Snowy National Parks. Here you will find Little River Falls and Little River Gorge which are only minutes away from the property. Little River Gorge is Victoria's deepest Gorge and home to the one of the last colonies of the critically endangered Black Footed Rock Wallaby. The Wulgulmerang Creek that runs through the property, empties into the gorge in a stunning cascade, after rain. We are a dog friendly property but as we share this land with a myriad of wildlife we ask that appropriate respect is considered. McKillops Bridge is approx 20kms away. McKillops Road is considered amongst the 10 most scenic drives in Australia, with jaw dropping scenery along the way. Alternately take the scenic drive to Jindabyne along the Barry Way approximately 2 1/2 hours away. The property is remote with the nearest township of Buchan 40 minutes away. We will endeavour to have basic emergency supplies available at the homestead. There is no mobile coverage at the campsites, giving you the opportunity to disconnect from your electronics and enjoy nature. There is access to the Wifi at the homestead if you do need to make calls.

WILDLIFE: All manner of birdlife, wombats, possums, wallabies, kangaroos, foxes, deer, water rats, platypus and trout. We are happy to point you toward the best places to see deer feeding and wallowing, fox cubs playing and platypus swimming. FARM: This is a functioning farm; there are cows and calves most of the year. Our cows are very friendly and curious, and whilst we endeavour to keep them away from the campsite, sometimes they can't help themselves! EXPLORING: Our property joins onto State Forest, which can be explored at guests own risk, once you set foot off our property, Hipcamp no longer insures against injury etc. Within our property, we have bush tracks, animal trails and a trickling stream running through a beautiful, shallow gorge, where many adventures have been had! WATER PLAY: Our sites make the most of the creek flowing through the property; Creek Ford and Shady Shallows have the best water access and are especially great for kids. Please be mindful of children around water, an adult must be present at all times. CAMPFIRES: Who doesn't love a good campfire?! We have numerous fire pits at the campsites that are there to be used. No chainsaws are to be used on the property, as per Hipcamps insurance policy. There is plenty of wood around that you are welcome to collect yourselves, otherwise, we can supply loads of wood for $50 (enough for a campfire over a long weekend). SETTING UP CAMP: Please be mindful of where you choose to set up your camp. While we endeavour to keep the sites as safe as possible, some hazards include; trees and limbs falling, snakes and thistles. TRACK CONDITION The track to the campsite is bumpy and needs to be driven slowly, we have had a 22ft caravan towed by a 100 series set up here with no troubles. FIREARMS: as per Hipcamps insurance policy, no firearms are to be used on the property. We understand that State Forest attracts hunting, which we are all for, however, we ask you to respect our wishes and keep all firearms legally stored while you are on our property. Do speak to us for some local knowledge about great hunting spots! WHAT'S AROUND? BENAMBRA is a small, remote farming community 15 minutes from the property. There you will find a post office and general store, a small playground, public toilets and a great pub open for beautiful meals and cold beers Tues-Sun nights! OMEO is about 30 minutes from the property, where there is a state-of-the-art pump track, brand new mountain bike trails, two pubs, a bakery, plenty of cafes/eateries, Foodworks, hardware supplies and a camping and fishing shop. Please note - All the area that has been slashed in the front paddocks you can camp in and spread out.Beach access is straight over the road from the front gate. You can lite fires and firewood is for sale at the farm gate store honesty box further down the road from the gate you enter if you don't bring your own.Escape the modern tourist world and in a pristine, undeveloped old country farming area right on the coast near the mouth of the famous Snowy River. Amazing fishing in both the River and Corringle Beach, with many different species caught at different times of the year. Enjoy the 40-kilometre deserted beach, sun baking (even nude if that's your thing), and swimming, but care must be taken (unpatrolled surf beach). Romantic sunsets with no one but the odd seal and sounds of the waves to disturb you. Beach fire at night is something special to do. The beach track is across from the front gate, there is no beach sign from the road because the public will then use the track which is only for Hipcampers and you wont enjoy the deserted beach. Call me if you cant find the track, but most people have not had a problem. This walking access is steep, easier tracks can be driven to down the road.Or take a dip in the river further down the road, and explore the waterways, with many birds; black swans in the lakes next to camp, plus kangaroos, wombats, emu and deer. There is a boat ramp just down the road to explore the river system. Perfect for water sports, and with fish cleaning tables at the wharf.  Go by boat to the Marlo Hotel from the wharf straight over the river.Orbost is 15 minutes drive and has a supermarket, hotel, bottle shop and other conveniences. We are open to accepting larger group bookings, but please discuss this with us first. Other things you can do in the area: - Driving trips to High Country Scenic Route and exploring the High Country (4-5 hour round trip).- Visit the Buchan Caves about an hour into the High Country - they are amazing.- Explore Cape Conran & you can even Dive for Abalone and Crayfish.- Visit Lakes Entrance and buy Seafood from the Trawlers.- Drive to Mt Hotham ski resort and explore the Omeo High Country (3 hours)- Visit Gordon at the Opal & Gemstone House in Orbost and find out about the gold, geology and gemstones of the area, hearing first-hand stories about how the area was many years ago from a great local old-timer who loves to share his knowledge and the old ways things were done.

It's just a short drive to the beautiful seaside town of LAKES ENTRANCE where they have shops, cafes, restaurants, great fresh seafood and lovely beaches. BRUTHEN is only a 20 minute drive. BRUTHEN HOTEL, Cafes, Antique shops, Galleries andthe BULL-ANT BREWERY are musts to check out! The BUCHAN CAVES RESERVE is another short drive. Picnic spots, camping ground, walking tracks and a variety of flora and fauna, including koalas, over forty species of birds, kangaroos and currawongs. Here at Kanukadale, you will share the space with very friendly horses, ponies, miniature goats and our donkey. The property is child friendly as the boundary, river and paddocks are well fenced. You can do as much or as little as you want during your stay. Be sure to check out our awesome animal focussed activities that we offer here. You can find them under Experiences. You are welcome to bring your own horses and dogs. Dogs must stay on a lead whilst on the property and responsible pet ownership is essential here, as is a respectful attitude towards all the other sentient beings on the property. We do not allow generators here. There is lots to do in the area with heaps of nature immersion. East Gippsland is one of the most bio-diverse areas on mainland Australia. You can explore rare, Old Growth forest, historic gold mines, climb to the peak of Mt Ellery and walk through the Errinundra Plateau. Mountain bike riding, horseriding, 4wd touring and bushwalking is awesome in this area. There is a camp kitchen with a communal fridge, microwave, stove and electricity. There is also a composting toilet and hot shower facilities. There is free wifi. THERE ARE NO SHOPS OR FUEL OR MOBILE RECEPTION. WIFI CALLING WORKS IF YOU HAVE THAT OPTION. THE CLOSEST TOWN IS 50 KM TO DELEGATE OR 70KM TO ORBOST. YOU NEED TO COME COMPLETELY PREPARED OR IT’S A LONG DRIVE TO TOWN. THERE IS A PUBLIC PHONE BOX UP THE ROAD.

Konda Blueberry Farm is located 10 minutes drive from Marlo, and 15 minutes from the beautiful Cape Conran beaches. The Farm is set on 132 acres of bushland, with about 15 acres cleared for the abundant blueberry orchard. There are many bush tracks throughout the property to explore and a large community of birdlife is everpresent. We do recommend a 4WD as the ground in some areas is quite sandy. We have two sites for campers (for either tents and RVs) that are tucked into cleared bushland areas, with lovely bush views, and privacy for just your own group. You'll need to be fully independent, with your own toilet, water and shower, and must take all waste when you depart. Campfires are permitted, and there are two firepits on site. We also welcome dogs! Please just ensure they are kept under control at all times. We don't offer self-picking at our farm, however when the berries are in season (Jan - Feb), you are welcome to purchase punnets picked that day! Fresh blueberries for your campfire breakfast, yum! For those keen on adventures further afield there is a boat ramp 8 mins drive away, the nearest beach is a 10 min drive away, and the township of Lakes Entrance is just 8 mins drive too. Plenty of water sports options, hospitality venues including waterfront cafes, and scenic spots to visit in the area. There are no amenities so please ensure you are fully self-sufficient. The campsite has a tap with drinking water (BYO hose), and dogs on leashes are welcome. Being on the river's edge, the property has a gradient toward the river, so ensure you are equipped with levelling ramps for caravans / camper trailers. Lakes Entrance is a coastal town in eastern Victoria. It's known for the Gippsland Lakes, a vast system of inland waterways. There is a pedestrian bridge to Ninety Mile Beach, which stretches along the town's Tasman Sea shoreline. Wildlife around the beach and lakes includes kangaroos, pelicans and dolphins so bring your camera!

Tambo Cottages is offering 4 Acres of farmland (large paddock) within walking distance of the local shops, petrol station, restaurant/take away and pub. Only 6 groups of people at anyone time. There is water available for use, but campers will need to be self-sufficient with their own camping toilet/shower. Campers will need to remove all waste and rubbish with them on departure. We are conveniently located just under 30 minutes from both Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance. Metung is only 8km away and they have just opened their new Hot Spring complex. There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area, explore the beautiful coastline, explore the Great Lakes, take a walk/ride through one of the coastal or regional parks or simply enjoy relaxing at your campsite. The mighty Snowy River winds its way through forested cliffs and plunging gorges at Snowy River National Park, and the wild landscapes provide the perfect playground for outdoor adventures. Take to the water to white-water raft or canoe, follow thrilling 4WD tracks up to spectacular cliff-top lookouts, or go rock climbing, mountain biking, or horseback riding through rugged gorges and old-growth forests. Hikers have plenty of options, including the popular Silver Mine Walking Track, while campers can take their pick of seven bush campgrounds, some of which are suitable for caravans and motorhomes.

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for families: Waratah Flat Camping Area is one of the few campgrounds with toilets, firepits, and picnic tables.
  • Best for paddlers: McKillops Bridge Campground lies along the Snowy River and has a canoe launch and swimming areas.
  • Best for escaping the crowds: Jackson Crossing Camping Area provides back-to-basics bush camping for tents and camper trailers.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Campsites at Snowy River National Park are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  2. Campsites can fill up fast during school holidays and on holiday weekends, so arrive early to secure a spot. 
  3. Dispersed camping is also allowed throughout the park, but campers must be self-sufficient and leave no trace. It’s forbidden to camp within 20 metres of a stream or river.

When to go

December and January are the most popular times for hiking, rafting, and other outdoor activities in the Snowy River National Park. Weather remains mild through spring and autumn, but come winter, high rainfall means that access to much of the park is by 4WD only, and some trails might be closed.

Know before you go

  • Snowy River National Park is 390 km northeast of Melbourne, along the Princes Highway. The park’s main roads and camping areas are accessible by 2WD, but many tracks 4WD-only. 
  • There are no admission or camping fees for Snowy River National Park.
  • Facilities are limited , so bring everything you need with you, including food, drinking water, and fuel. 
  • Pets are not permitted within the park. 
  • There are accessible picnic areas, restrooms, and campsites within the park.
