Learn more about this land: Both sites are located in beautiful Huntington, VT on the occupied lands of the Abenaki/Wabanaki. Texas Hill Brook camp site The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Electricity on site, primitive fire pit, but no other facilities, so ALL waste must be packed out. We have a bucket commode to loan if you don’t have your own. Dark Star Cabin Dark Star is the perfect base camp for your northern Vermont hiking and biking adventures! Comfortable accommodations for 6 in a solar powered cabin. Located in Huntington close to some of Vermont’s best trails, Dark Star is a short hike (less than a mile) from a private, secure parking area. The hike is not difficult, but ground is uneven, some of it is uphill, and it may be wet. Note that this property is HIKE-IN ONLY and pack in/pack out. Unwind in the wood-fired sauna, lounge on the deck under the stars, sharing stories of your escapades and planning the next day’s adventures. Pull-out queen sofa bed on the main floor plus 2 full size beds in the loft. Pillows are provided but bring your own linens. Outdoor shower, WiFi, water filtration system, grill, small refrigerator/freezer, composting toilet, and many other amenities for a comfortable stay.

This campsite was awesome— easily one of my favorite of all time. The stream is really wonderful and peaceful. Driveway is marked with a camping sign and had gravel most of the way down. Slightly muddy at the end but i didnt have any issues getting out. I didn’t meet julia but Jeff was super accommodating, and the dog, nikki, is very fluffy and sweet. I wasn’t able to make a fire during my stay but they had wood, kindling, and a torch for me to usez electric was convenient. Even in winter site feels private and cozy. I would stay there again for sure.

This cabin was magical! We loved the space and the wood fired sauna. I will say we didn't know it was shared with another Yurt, which I'm not sure was mentioned in the listing. Luckily no one was at the other spot until the second night so we got to enjoy some privacy. Regardless we highly recommend, very special place.

Heaven close to town!
My husband and I had a lovely two days here. What an absolutely beautiful and brilliant space. I was lulled to sleep with the sounds of the river. We were very appreciative of the well equipped outdoor tent commode. It was close to Burlington which is what we were looking for. Easy to get there and back without issue. Thank you so much Julia and Jeff!

Great location! We stayed only one night as we were travelling through but would definitely come back to stay longer. Jeff was VERY helpful and super friendly. Almost as soon as we got to the land he treated us with his super friendly and adorable dog Nikki. He had also started the fire at our camping location prior to our arrival. We had a big fifth wheel which made it impossible in the weather (A LOT) of rain to get down to the location safely but no worries to Jeff as he helped us stay closer to the home in order to sleep the night. I’d recommend you chat with Jeff and Julia if you have a big fifth wheel or RV prior to booking but other than that we had a lovely stay and will be back with maybe just tents or stay in their other location (the cabin).
