Located in Mantua, UT, a small mountain valley in Cache National Forest on the Wasatchback of the Rocky Mountains of Utah. A ten minute walk to Mantua Reservoir for ice fishing in the winter, kayaking, boating, water skiing, fishing in Spring, Summer, & Fall. Pickleball courts and Sydney's Grill are a 10 minute walk away. Mountain biking, four wheeling, side-by-side adventure right outside your RV door to Willard Peak and the beautiful Northern Wasatchback. Use of my huge lawn (next to the field where you park) for lawn games (provided for a small fee), and my in-ground fire pit are available for your enjoyment. Friendly dogs are very welcome - my white Lab is always looking for new friends! 3 miles down Box Elder Canyon to two large grocery stores, Walmart, gas stations, restaurants, and gyms. One hour to skiing at Snow Basin (home of 2002 Olympic downhill), Powder Mountain to the south and Beaver Mountain to the north. World's largest game bird refuge and museum 10 minutes west down the canyon. Utah State University 30 minutes to the north and Weber State University 30 minutes to the south. Box Elder Creek is a 5 minute walk into Box Elder Campground, the poppy hill (2 weeks in June), and wonderful hiking opportunities. The valley was settled by Danish immigrants in 1862, and the property you will be on is owned by a descendent of the original settlers. See more info about Mantua in the link below.Located in Cache Natl Forest, 10 min off of I15 in Box Elder Canyon. Mountain wildlife share your space. Take your toys directly into the mountains to Willard Peak, or through Wasatch Back to Eden, beaver dams, wildflowers, mountain valleys on your way. 1/2 mile to reservoir; small beach/pier/boat dock. One adult and one child kayak available to rent, and lawn games for a small fee. 5 minute walk into BE Campground, where Box Elder Creek meanders through the trees. Next door on the adjacent property, a pergola with seating and electrical outlets is available for guests' use for a fee. Reservations with the host is required on a first come first served basis. You also have access to a large in-ground fire-pit and patio table on adjacent property where owners home sits for a small fee, and it can also be reserved on a first come first served basis for your group. Also, most Thursday evenings there will be a fire in the fire-pit that is free to all guests on the property. Come meet your hosts & camp neighbors! Check with host about creative possibilities to use the field and adjacent residential property for group camping reunions, weddings, celebrations of all kinds. Other amenities are available. Mantua is a sleepy little town of approximately 1400 people, and Rasmussen Ridge is located on the southwest edge. It is a beautiful walk, run, or bike ride around Mantua Reservoir (5miles), where you can sink a worm from the side, troll for fish on the lake, waterski, canoe, kayak, and sunbathe. Our little valley is surrounded by mountains on all sides, and the nights are so dark you can see the Milky Way and the constellations.

Great Stay!

Kristine’s place was great! Such a nice lady and a great host! Lots to do in the area and we walked to most of it! Hiking, biking, a lake… We had a great stay. Thanks Kristine!

Simple fast stopover

We managed to pick the worst time of year to come through here, so we weren't able to stay in the field because it was covered in deep snow. However, Kristine was super sweet and we ended up just parked up by her driveway. It was secure and safe for the night and that's what we needed. Hopefully we can come again when the field is unsnowed :) Congratulations on those twin gbabies!!!

Second visit just as great as first

This is my second time staying here – for a few more details see my other review on this great spot! Very glad to have come back here again, the site is so perfect, so private, a pretty straight shot off of the interstate, and the hostess is fabulous.

A lovely spot!!!

What a lovely spot Kristine has! Nice fencing for pups but not completely fenced. Lots of spots, well spaced from Kristine’s house and one other house next to hers. Other side past the fence slopes down to the road so despite a wee bit of traffic noise, it’s a very private feeling spot. Well worth the short drive from the interstate.

It’s a very nice spot with views of the mountains and the host has a very nice yard. It was all lit up with lights in the evening. Not too far from the interstate and easy to find.
