Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
Bear Lake Aquatics Base is owned and operated by the Crossroads of the West Council, BSA. It is used for Scout events and campsite rentals during the summer season. There aren’t many places inland that you can say you really feel like you’re at the ocean. Bear Lake just happens to be one of them! With one mile of beach-front property, you will enjoy a beach-front camp like you’ve never dreamed of! All campsites are located between the highway and Bear Lake. Each campsite has potable water, a picnic table, campfire pit, and restrooms/showers a short walk away. No alcohol, drugs, or fireworks on property per Boy Scouts of America policies. Bear Lake Aquatics Base is conveniently located north of Laketown and nearby many local attractions - Bear Lake State Park, Logan Canyon, Minnetonka Cave and the National Oregon Trail Museum. Explore neighboring Laketown to experience the local flavor, maybe even a raspberry shake.

Site 9 - Beachfront Campsites - Laketown
The experience was great and the view was amazing and it was close enough to the lake, it’s a clean place.

mixed feelings
The cost was extremely high ($70) for a tent site, that had a picnic table and vaulted toilets (not enclosed, just a stall). The hand wash station was definitely built for many users at once. The overall camp was run down and in desperate need of a face lift. Definitely not worthy of $70. The camp host was extremely friendly, the sites were large and spaced out. The beach was very rocky, but not over crowded like other parts of Bear Lake we have been to. We have been visiting Bear Lake as a large family group for decades now and if the price of this campground were more reasonable, we would consider returning, but it really just was out of our price range for an over nighter and a day at the beach. We only stayed because of the lack of campgrounds available in our normal camping area and the lateness of the hour we were arriving.

Bear Lake is my favorite
We love staying here every year! The campsite is quite and pretty laid back. The showers are in need of some love but they were made for boy scouts so just be prepared! The views of Bear Lake are beautiful and the sunsets are even better.

The Beachfront Campsites on Bear Lake are B E A U T I F U L !!! The Camp Host was AWESOME!! We drove from out of state, after work (so we arrived late = after 10pm), and the camp host greeted us with a welcoming smile... Leading us by flashlight to our campsite!!! :-) Site #17 had plenty of space, a campfire ring, shade, and a nice picnic table! :-) The site was very clean with lovely tall grass. The beach & water were very inviting & only a short walk from our site! :-) Our family is DELIGHTED to have found this "camping gem"! :-) We are already planning our return trip to the Beachfront Campsites --> We picked out a tent site right on the waterfront, which we want to return too! :-) Thank-you Mary for the extra time on the water yesterday!! You & your husband are sweethearts! :-)
