Site 5 - Shoshana Shalom Farms
Daniel is fantastic!
If you enjoy roughing it, this is for you. Rugged and primitive. The only "luxury" you get is a makeshift fire pit. And Daniel kindly provides a rather large bucket of firewood. I failed to to do my homework and didn't know how rugged it was. I was only there to get pictures of the eclipse. My sports car wouldn't make it. Daniel and his son came out in his truck to get us, loaded up our gear, and drove us to our campsite. He didn't seem bothered one bit. The next morning, he brought us some corn for the many animals he has in a pen because my fiance said she wanted to see them. When we were done, we once again got to load or stuff in his truck and hitch a ride back to our car. Everything about the campsite was great. But the extra hospitality really put it over the top! I'd rate more stars if I could!

Very unique location. Perfect piece of land for some old-fashioned camping! Really enjoyed our time out in nature.

Awesome place to stay
Shoshana Shalom Farms
Remote, rough and rustic
The host was friendly and talkative, and gave us a couple of books to read. The goats and other farm animals that passed through our campsite were enjoyable to watch. However, the camping areas did not appear to have received maintenance in quite a while. The roads to the campsites were quite narrow from the cedars having grown into them, and tall grass surrounded and even had grown into some of the fire pits making it unsafe for a campfire. Every camp spot the host showed me other than the large group site was a tight fit. All sites were overgrown with grass from last summer. One spot could not even be reached without driving over a pile of brush and limbs. There were no tables or trash receptacles as advertised, nor were there actual walking trails, other than some cleared area along the perimeter fence. If you are looking for a rough and rustic place to camp, have a vehicle with plenty of ground clearance and do not mind squeezing between tree limbs that will rub down the sides of your vehicle then this place might be for you. It looks little like the pictures. If you have a larger RV type of vehicle then the private roads to the farm and certainly the road to the camping area through a couple of seasonal creek beds might not be for you. The large camping area is a good spot for star gazing and is quiet. Some tree trimming along the interior roads and weed eating around the designated fire pits would make this a much more enjoyable location.

Great stay
Took my college friends out to go camping at Shoshanna Shalom for our winter break and it was great. Highly recommend this location. Getting to stay in a sanctuary with cows, goats, and sheep was a great experience.
Being able to buy firewood instead of needing to bring it was also great for us because we came during a chilly time of year. Hot in the day, cold at night.
The only negative of the trip was that the last mile or so of the road is a bumpy drive especially at night or after rain. I’d recommend driving a bigger or taller car like an SUV or truck.

Adventurous last mile or so when getting in, but site is all you could wish for. Daniel's a gentleman and will let you come and meet the animals. My kids loved it. Be sure you have good tires.
