Off grid Palapa kayak and stand up paddle board out to the lake. There's a private bath with a basic shower. No hot water. Camping stove available but you must bring your own butane. Two adult cots, one child and one pet bed. Pet friendly. Telescope to view stars. Hammocks to used. Spring Break away from the crowds

The palapa was a ton of fun. It’s exactly what we needed! As a parent of plugged-in too often kids, I didn’t want to take them somewhere with tvs and well, plugs.. (although we were pleasantly surprised that there was a nice battery bank there to use to charge stuff and blow up our air mattresses). My oldest opted to sleep out on the deck and we were perfectly comfy in the palapa! The SUP and kayaks were a hit, as well as fishing right there off the back. Directions and accessing the place all easy! It’s about a 25-30 minute drive to the Galveston Pleasure Pier area/beach. We had a great time, thanks Jeanette!

Overall a nice cute spot for a night. Host was available for contact. There are plenty of mosquitoes and other bugs. There we bathroom complications at the time.

Highland Bayou Kayak and SUP Palapa

Awesome experience!

We really loved this place. The property is right on the water. The tree house is so simple, and cute, but had everything necessary. We planned to set up tents but it rained all weekend, so the 5 of us enjoyed our time playing games inside. And we had plenty of room to sleep there too. Jeannette did an amazing job of providing all sorts of things to do - things for the beach, fans, lights, kayaks. I was very impressed with what she offered. We would for sure stay again!
