This beautiful 200-acre property is the perfect place to get away from it all. We have a hilltop area where you can view the sunrise from the east and the sunset in the west, with absolutely no light pollution. On a clear night, the galaxy is astounding to view. The property has multiple areas of creek frontage with both kid and adult-friendly swimming areas. There is a good area for using a small kayak (depending on the creek levels) or floating along on an inner tube, and beautiful views and wildlife abound. You may even get a visit from our beautiful king parrots. You can also enjoy bushwalking, birdwatching, and fishing, and there are even deer on the property, but they’re rarely seen. If you’re keen, you can take your 4WD to the end of Emu Creek Road, where you can start your trek up to the old plane wreck. Bushwalking to the Steamers (for the very experienced) can be accessed at the end of Emu Creek Road. We are a working cattle farm and have around 40 head of cattle.

The Pump House
Really enjoyed our time here. Thanks to the hosts who were very accommodating, even giving us a private tour of their land! Water holes/creeks allowed us to cool down in the hot weather over Australia day. Big, open space to choose your ideal camp-site from and fitted our 21.6 foot van with ease!

Scenic and spacious
We enjoyed our time at Kimblehurst. Our site was spacious and had the bonus inclusion of a shelter which we used to keep things out of the weather. Kev and Shelly are hospitable and dropped by just after we arrived to say hi. Kev pointed out some spots to swim and should we need reception where to go for that. We enjoyed the bird calls and seeing the wallabies in the afternoon. A 30 minute drive will see you at Queen Mary Falls which is worth a look. So close to Brisbane but worlds away, we look forward to returning to this amazing place soon! Thanks again Kev and Shelly!

Hilltop Hood
we stayed at Hilltop Hood at Kimblehurst a couple of weeks ago and wow, what a great spot, you really get a feeling of being miles away from anyone. it was a bit windy up there but we positioned the car and camper to block the wind from kitchen area so wasn’t really a problem, and it was great for the kids to fly kites. the owners are really lovely genuine people, they were nice enough to take us for a quick lap of the property on their off-road buggy which the kids are still talking about weeks after it was so fun, we had a few nice chats with them, and the cows came and spent a couple of hours with us one evening too which was also such a great experience for the kids, and the cows it seems because they came back the following morning to see us again, great view both ways, sunrise and sunset, we could see distant lights of 2 houses at night, a few km away, so there’s no light pollution and stars are amazing, would love to go back again

Blackberry creek
Favourite place so far. Wonderful hosts - Kev and Shelley were very welcoming and considerate. Excellent spot for privacy (some road users go past) as they have kept it to one lot of campers for this site. Perfect for kids and dogs. The creek was a great place for them to play and we thoroughly appreciated the little shelter and ability to collect firewood. Great hiking option up to the top of the hill if you’re feeling adventurous. Will be back soon. Thank you.
