Nestled in the Gold Coast Hinterland, Jandarra Farm is a regenerative farm using cattle to build soil biology and rebalance nature. This is primarily achieved through us of holistic management practices - moving the cattle everyday using electric fences (to replace the predators) and small paddocks (26 of them actually).
Jandarra Experiences (please see ‘Extras’):
- Infrared sauna (from June 25th 2022)
- Firewood
- Boomerang bag of organic seasonal produce
- Organic muesli with Jandarra fruit
- Jandarra organic eggs
- Sew your own boomerang bag to take home
Why not have a sauna session (from June 25th 2022) followed by a cool dip in the rock pool, then warm up fireside as the sun drops behind the hills and reveals the night sky – and lots more stars than in the big smoke.

Take a short shower with a view, cook a meal for yourself on the campfire (dutch oven and hanging rack supplied) or use our full kitchen set up in the shed with a camp stove, pots, utensils, and washing up bays with cutlery and crockery for your use (please wash and up and put away on departure).
Most importantly, take time to be still and listen. The name ‘Jandarra’ means 'place of peace’. There is great energy here and there are many places to wander, sit and listen. Over 90 bird species have been listed here if you are into bird watching.
*If you have a larger group up to eight people, please contact us directly.
Permaculture practices, vegetable gardens and planting trees are other activities undertaken. There are three Warre (natural) beehives and flower gardens to keep the bees happy. Wander around to find our mobile chicken trailer and the 33 ladies that call ‘The Chick Inn’ home. We love worms too with a few bathtubs full.
The caretaker of this property co-founded "Boomerang Bags", a not-for-profit organisation raising awareness of plastic pollution through community engagement. There are over 1200 communities globally diverting material from landfill and creating habits of reuse rather than single-use. Therefore, drumroll...please bring reusable rather than single-use (eg beeswax wraps instead of cling wrap, real containers rather than takeaway) and take home any rubbish (you won't find any bins except for the food scraps). We would be very happy to show you how to make a boomerang bag for keeps on the industrial sewing machines that live in the garage. Just let us know if you would like to try your hand and create a momento and useful shopping bag as part of the Jandarra experience (see Extras).

Jandarra is the 40th property in Australia to undertake the Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV) Process through the Savory Institute.
EOV was developed in collaboration with leading soil scientists, ecologists, agronomists and an extensive network of regenerative land managers around the world. EOV is a practical and scalable soil and landscape assessment methodology that tracks outcomes in biodiversity, soil health, and ecosystem function (water cycle, mineral cycle, energy flow and community dynamics). Jandarra has 10 Short term monitoring sites plus one long term monitoring site. By recognising both land regeneration targets and trends, EOV endorsement is bestowed as long as land health moves in a net positive direction with the second testing in April 2022 confirming this. We believe EOV gives the land a voice and through this process, provides us with feedback to make better management decisions. We welcome a conversation and to share more information when you visit.
No smoking on the property please.
