Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Located in the beautiful Goomburra Valley, this is our little slice of heaven. We are lucky enough to be able to enjoy our own 400m stretch of Dalrymple Creek - this place is beautiful in any season. Goomburra was named in 1840 after the local indigenous people - they were incredible at maintaining the long grassed areas, and Goomburra translates to “fire people”. We are incredibly honoured to be the temporary custodians of this piece of paradise. Please be thoughtful and respect this land we are so lucky to able to experience - be quiet, respectful, and self contained. Leave no trace.A private paradise for you, or 2 or 4! Come and enjoy our slice of paradise at Goomburra along the creek. Since the spot is all yours, you have the freedom to choose where you set up! There is a large grassed area near the windmill on the bank; you can choose to be shaded in the trees or over close to the creek. You must be fully self contained during your stay. Take your grey and black water with you. We will sight your port-a-loo on arrival. There is no drinking water available. Take the time during your stay to disconnect and be present with your loved ones. There is no reception available on site however if you do need to make a call or check your Facebook, you can do so either approximately 3km up the road at Gordon Country or 3km back in the other direction near Daandine horse stud. We have wonderful neighbours surrounding our property and kindly ask you to respect them by monitoring the volume of your site, and adhering to no loud music after 6pm. No motorbikes or fireworks either. Pets are welcome however they need to be on a leash at all times. During your stay you will see lots of local wildlife and farm animals. Sometimes we run cattle on this block and they can startle easy. At 500-700kg this is not pleasant for dog or owner! Or farmer for that matter. This is their home. We would hate anything to happen to your pets, so also recommend tick prevention prior to arriving. We have provided you a designated fire pit to enjoy a camp fire (please check current fire alerts - and feel free to grab any fallen wood around the block - chainsaws permitted to cut the larger fallen wood). Things to do during the stay - swim in the creek, drive up to Main Range National Park and do some great hikes (range from 1km to 18km long - check out Cascades Circuit for creek crossings and huge waterfalls!), or use the coffee van or 4WD tracks at Gordon Country, or Janowen 4WD park. Your closest town is Allora (25 mins away) - here you will find an IGA, pub/bottle shop, butcher, post office, and good coffee behind the barbershop. Just not a bakery - feedback already given! You can buy incredible Goomburra meat direct from the farmer at Echo Valley Farm or Lazy Cow Farm. Contact them a few days before you arrive to see what they have in stock! The Warwick Farmers Markets are a fun stop in on a Saturday morning too - James from Lazy Cow Farm is usually there. Incredible Stanthorpe wineries are only an hour away. Warwick has a great smokehouse called Bluebird Kitchen (good coffee in the morning), and a new brewpub called Psycho Suzie’s. Don’t forget to stop in at the Aratula Bakery if you are taking the Cunningham Hwy up here! Best pies and sourdough bread. Most importantly, please leave no trace of your stay. Our piece of paradise is here for everyone to enjoy, and we rely on you to leave your site the way you found it. Please take all of your rubbish with you. Closest dump point for caravans is Allora (heading west) or Kalbar (heading back to Brisbane). We believe Gordon Country has a newly installed dump point - you just may have to pay to use it. We would love to see photos of your set up and hear your feedback! We are campers too and love this community. We can’t wait to share our paradise with you. Please note - we had limited rainfall during last winter and as El Niño settles in, the creek will have water in it but we cannot guarantee the depth. As local farmers suffer through these periods, we ask you to understand that the creek might be suitable for sitting in but may be not deep enough for swimming. Most of the time you can guarantee the deep spots are about hip deep which is enough for your furry friends and you, too!

Goomburra Dreaming
Fantastic place to camp !!!
Fantastic place to camp! Sarah was very responsive and helpful and great at recommending local places to see. The site was perfect. We have 2 autistic kiddies so we are very particular with sites and this one ticked all the boxes. Creek was amazing. Quiet and peaceful. Fireplace was great and wood from road side stall on our way. IGA at Alora is about 20 mins away. Massive tree which gave us shade most the time too. Really great camping spot and we will definitely be back. Thanks again Sarah. Gorgeous Spot
We had a wonderful relaxing time. Loved that we had the spot all to ourselves. The dogs loved coming on adventures with us exploring the creek.

Goomburra Dreaming
Great spot to relax.
Great spot to relax. Although you can see the road from the site, it is ultra peaceful. The creek is pretty low at the moment but still enough for my dog to have a swim and for us to enjoy wandering along and enjoying the sound of running water. No other campers around you so it is all yours to enjoy 😊
