Discover the most magical spots to pitch your tent or park your rig on your next Daintree National Park adventure.
Two World Heritage landscapes meet at Daintree—the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics.
From lush lowland rainforest to the white-sand beaches and coral-fringed coast of the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree National Park covers a whopping 1,200 square kilometres. The two sections—Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation—are linked by a ferry ride across the Daintree River. Try a rainforest hike along the Mossman River, venture off-road in a 4WD, or immerse yourself in the traditional culture of the Ngadiku people on a Dreamtime walk. In Cape Tribulation, take in the views from the Mount Alexandra lookout, spot crocodiles on a Daintree River cruise, or go horseback riding along the beach. The Noah Beach camping area is the park’s only camping option, with tree-shaded gravel pitches for tents, camper trailers, and small campervans a short walk from rainforest trails and the beach.
May through September is the dry season in Daintree National Park, with an average maximum temperature of 26°C. This is the most popular time to visit, so book tours in advance and get there early to beat the crowds. The weather can be extreme in the wet season (December through April), with temperatures soaring to more than 30°C, high humidity, and heavy showers most days. The Noah Beach camping area is also closed at this time.
