Sit on the covered porch no matter the weather and enjoy the sounds and scenes of nature! This is the ideal place to come, unwind and just be a part of nature. Your views will be of trees, mountains and creeks. The cabin is far enough away from our home so you will have privacy and seclusion. It is a short but very uphill hike from the parking area. When you arrive, feel free to find your way up to the cabin. You may want to pack light as it is a bit of a hike! Linens and blankets will be provided for the King size bed. The cabin is constructed from local trees we've harvested using our sawmill as well as Redwood and Douglas Fir salvaged from an old water tower deconstructed locally on the mountain. This is the perfect rustic, quiet and private retreat for all seasons. We now have a King size bed in the cabin for up to 2 people. We've added a private wood-fired hot tub solely for the guests of the cabin with a view of the waterfall. The hot tub is an additional fee as it takes many more resources (wood and time cleaning between guests). The tub is a Cedar tub and we prefer to use the Japanese style of avoiding chemicals by refilling the tub every few days or between guests. This is a one of kind rustic experience. We provide all of the firewood needed for the cabin. Longer stays at a discounted price for those engaged in creative projects will be considered...please message me.Crystal Creek Cabin is located under large Cedar trees on our 80 acre property adjoining the Mt. Hood National Forest. Sit on the covered porch no matter the weather and enjoy the sounds and scenes of nature! This is the ideal place to come, unwind and just be. Inside the cabin is a wood stove for keeping warm during the cold months. This is an off grid cabin...however we have a Honda generator that can be used for lights and electrical plug-ins or go without electricity and use the lantern and candles provided. There is also a fire ring for campfires as well as a large pick-nick table. The cabin is constructed from local trees we've harvested using a sawmill as well as Redwood and Douglas Fir salvaged from an old water tower deconstructed locally on the mountain.  This is the perfect rustic, quiet and private retreat for all seasons. *Keep in mind there is a very uphill 5-10 minute walk to the cabin from where you'll park (pack accordingly and pack light).  Please arrive during daylight hours or bring lighting to guide your way (headlamps or flashlights) the path is sparsely lit. No plumbing inside the cabin (outhouse solely for the cabin). A water cooler is provided for drinking water. We also have a water spigot outside but the water is not drinkable. NEW ADDITIONS if you've stayed with us before: We no longer have the twin beds or mattress in the loft. We've added a King size bed for accommodations up to 2 people. We've added a beautiful wood fired Cedar Hot Tub near the landing at the waterfall. A small hike up from the cabin. The hot tub can be rented at an additional fee as it takes many more resources (firewood and time cleaning) to make available solely for guests of the cabin. We do not use chemicals in the tub and implement the Japanese style of changing out the water every few days or between guests.

Listening to the rain
We had such a fantastic stay at Rachel’s cabin, we cannot wait to come back. It rained and poured a ton while we were there, but we made the best out of it. Due to high winds, we had no electricity within the cabin. None of that stopped us from our wonderful stay. Rachel had plenty of firewood ready for us, as well as drinking water. We loved being disconnected and spending time together with our doggie. We hiked in the rain, drove to the local spots, and enjoyed cooking s’mores inside the cabin. We cannot wait to come back, one of our most favorite stays to date. Listening to the waterfall at night was so relaxing and peaceful. Thank you Rachel for checking on us and making us feel at home. We are now addicted to Pendleton blankets because of you. :-) we are counting down until our next visit at your cabin.

Adorable Cabin in the Woods
This is an absolute GEM of a Hipcamp! Only about an hour outside of Portland and on the most beautiful piece of land. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate Halloween weekend and have a woodsy escape to close out a season of outdoor adventures. The cabin is ADORABLE. It's lofted and has two small beds downstairs and one larger bed in the loft. The pillows and blankets are super comfortable. I took the best nap on the small bed with the window open because the sound of the creek outside was so relaxing. Electricity runs on a generator, but we found that we barely needed to use it and opted for the many candles and wood burning stove (which kept us toasty!) to carry us into the evening. There's a fire pit and plenty of firewood, which we used to cook up our dinner. The outhouse by the cabin is super clean and well lit. The space felt secluded and private. The cabin is also close to a lot of outdoor activities like Little ZigZag Falls, Mirror Lake Hike, Mt. Hood. We drove up to Timberline Lodge but it was already a little too snowy (drive was beautiful though!) We've already been talking about the next time we get to come back :) Thanks so much Rachel and Simon!

Wonderful getaway
This was a stunningly perfect two-day getaway for our family. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and situated next to a beautiful babbling brook. Rachel was super responsive and very easy to communicate with. Thank you for your hospitality!

The cabin absolutely exceeded expectations. I’m so thankful that owners like Rachel share their space. The cabin is right on a little stream and our favorite part was falling asleep and waking up to the water.

Mt Hood...Crystal Creek Cabin
I have nothing bad to say about our stay at Crystal creek cabin. It was absolutely beautiful! Rachel was in touch with us and communicated quickly/clearly. The place is clean and has everything you need and nothing you don't. We were "THOSE" people who missed the turn despite Rachel's clear instructions and ended up in their driveway (sorry again!). Their pups paid us a visit and were very friendly (my daughter kept calling for them to come back throughout our stay ha). So envious of this little paradise. Can't wait to come again.
