This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.

-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table

5G/LTE cellphone service is good for Bell, Rogers and Telus networks. We have 3 outhouses on the premises and an outdoor hot shower.
FREE Firewood can be gathered on the forest floor or pay for on-site pre-cut wood. Outhouses are close to campsites....but not too close 💩
Port Rowan is only 12 minutes away by car, most amenities can be purchased only 1 minute away at the local Busy Bee gas station.
We are situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Long Point Bay area has to offer
We have some great watering holes nearby like burning kiln winery, hounds of Erie and Charlotteville brewing company.
Birders Paradise!
The ‘Long Point Birding Area’ in Norfolk County is one of Canada’s premier birding locales. With over 400 species of birds observed, Long Point looms large as one of the most exciting places on the continent to observe our rich birdlife.

This spring, we welcomed the newest addition to our goat family. His name is Willy and he is the friendliest kid! Come visit him in our "Agri-gallery" goat barn.
From our gardens, we harvest fresh vegetables for sale daily (seasonal), fresh eggs, and raw honey from our hard-working bees.
We're a quick 25 minute drive to Napanee, and 40 minutes to Kingston.
Our property is located 5 minutes from the free ferry to Picton, Prince Edward County. It's a convenient location for exploring historical Loyalist sites, the Tyendinaga Caves, breweries and wineries, Sandbanks Provincial Park, Lake on the mountain, and for fishing in the renowned Hay Bay.
There are many nearby water access points including beaches and boat launches. We have 2 kayaks and 2 standup paddle boards available for half-day or full day rental.

Hemlock Point Campground is set on a private waterway fed by the Black River, nestled among forests and rocky ridges. The river offers a few different swimholes easily within walking or paddling range, as well as some decent fishing and wildlife sightings. Each campsite is spacious with a private driveway, outhouse, picnic table, and more. As well as using the canoe provided, campers are also welcome to hike the marked and groomed waterfront hiking trails throughout the 56 acre property, and just down the road is Mt.Moriah, a Buddhist Temple, and numerous backcountry trails, reserves, and lakes. ATV's are permitted on the road, (gateway to trails to Lingham, Deer Rock, Caniff, and Skootamatta Lakes) and friendly dogs are welcome off leash. This is a unique gelogical landscape, situated between Mt. Moriah, the Elzevir pluton complex and the Black River in an ultramafic zone, with coloured quartz veins and pillowed granite outcroppings. Mixed forest with varied species of deciduous and conifer trees - due to aerial seeding after a forest fire over 80 years ago, leaving charred stumps that can still be found from natural char preservation. Home to pileated woodpeckers, hawks, eagles and kingfishers, otters, fishers, salamanders, brown river trout and everything in between, either from the vantage of a hammock or on a hike in the forest this natural site won't disappoint.

Our 14 acre property is a quiet oasis on several biking trails (G2G, Cottonwood Road, Trans Canada Trail) and a very short drive to famous Elora (7 min) and St. Jacobs (20 min), Elmire (10 min). There is access to several Grand River launch sites, many nearby hiking trails, and countless Mennonite farmers markets with fresh produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses, and preserves. This is a hidden Oasis just outside of the Waterloo and Guelph areas.
There’s lots of other exciting things to do and see in the surrounding areas – great restaurants, breweries and wineries, golf courses, rivers, fishing, agri-tourism experiences, events and more.
There is really something for everyone around here.
We have a beautiful green acreage with a picturesque pond, next to Cox Creek and privacy with open and treed space and the promise of gorgeous sunsets almost every night.
We have:

A couple notes about the property:
We strive to give you a tranquil experience in a beautiful space where you can enjoy relaxing days close to nature, have space to play games, have a paddle around the pond, or seek out the many surrounding activities.
You may encounter property owners (that's us!) and our kids enjoying a walk with their friendly dogs unleashed, picking berries, playing a game or doing yard work near your site and around the property. We hope you don't mind. We aim to give you a lot of privacy, so we aren't going to be around all the time, don't worry. But this is a shared space, that we want to enjoy alongside you and we really hope you enjoy it as much as we do! We'll definitely say hi if we see you but we won't overstay our welcome!

It was 1984 when John found his ‘diamond in the rough’, 20 acres with an orchard on the outskirts of Brantford.
O.K., so the house was nothing to write home about but perfect for building a construction yard…no neighbors except for the family across the road that used their property to build log homes.
By 1987 the old house was gone, a new one was being built and a shop for working on heavy equipment had been located about 200 ft. from Dr. the back door.
It wasn’t until 1996 that things changed very much.
Yes, the property around the house had benefitted from a wide array of trees and shrubs that John saved from the construction/demolition jobs he had done and that still thrive today but no big projects (except for equipment purchases) were ongoing.
A chance meeting with the neighbor across the road one day resulted in the following dinner conversation, ‘How was your day’ I chirped. ‘Not bad, so-and-so didn’t come in; the truck broke down and I took it for repair; I bought the property across the road, and oh, yeah I’ll need a ride after dinner to pick up the truck’ was John’s casual reply. ‘What was that’? I pressed. ‘Yes, I need a ride after dinner to pick up the truck’ he repeated with a bit more volume. Of course like anyone, I had questions, ‘Do you want peas or corn with dinner’? ‘What time do you want to go to get the truck’?
‘The property across the road’, 10 acres, still has the 4 storey barn with its twin tiled silos which was built in 1914 and the big white house with wrap around porch that once was home to a Doctor and his family. Built so the Doctor could see his patients in the front with the family living in the back was very common in the day.
Things remained relatively peaceful until 2000 when after studying alpacas for more than 6 years I bought our first three.
Back in 2000 alpacas and llamas were not frequently seen on farms and because they could been seen from the road they received A LOT of attention.
People driving by would stop and ask about them, ask if they could take a picture or two and that was when I would hear over and over again ‘You have a beautiful place here, I wish I/we could stay’.
Well, if you want to visit and stay in the city it’s doable, we call it a hotel. But visiting a farm and staying well, that isn’t so easy.
Each year we would see more and more families coming to ‘The Farm’ as they would call it.
Some came to see the alpacas and horses, some came for a stroll and to check out the horse drawn milk and bread delivery wagons, some to have family birthday parties, others to have engagement/wedding/Christmas card pictures…and so many asked if there was any way they could spend a day or two.
In 2021 during a conversation with a friend I mentioned we were in the process of gutting the 1100 sq. ft. space downstairs and turning it into an Airbnb! Right away she said, ‘I don’t know why you don’t have a Hipcamp? You’ve got that great area by the new barn that Hipcampers would love’!
After a little investigation I found out what a Hipcamp was…and as they say, the rest is future.

The Point...
The main shared area "The Point", is the peninsula that the main roadway ends at (where the BBQ, kayaks and canoes are), this is a shared area for us and our guests to enjoy. The Point offers a large picnic table, a propane BBQ, comfortable seating, a large rock perfect for sunbathing, and a river view. It's an ideal spot for swimming and launching canoes, kayaks, or paddle-board river excursions, thanks to its shallow entry and rocky bottom. Adventurous visitors might choose to paddle upriver, around an island, and return through the remaining historic canal. For a more strenuous workout, consider paddling up the canal to the Grenville lighthouse and then drifting all the way back to camp with the river's current. All we ask of our visitors is: that whatever you bring in you take home with you, that you leave your campsite and the property the way you found it, and the only thing you take from here are pictures and happy memories.
All of our campsites are off-grid, un-serviced, drive-in camping. Campfire wood and recycling facilities are available on site. Maintained outhouses are available throughout the property. There is no potable water on the property so please bring your own drinking and cooking water.
Children under 12 can camp for free. When booking a campsite please only include any guests over 12 years of age in your guest count. Children under 12 do not need to be included in your booking.
Contact us to inquire about large group and event rates. We host LARPing weekends twice a month. We also have a limited number of seasonal sites available from June to September.
I love this property and all the people who visit us, many have become extended family and for this I am grateful. There is nothing nicer than to have people drop by and spend a couple of hours, a day or a weekend, sometime when I get real lucky it's for a longer period of time :-)

By far one of the prettiest cam sites I’ve ever been to! And though there’s a lot of mosquitoes, if you power through the itchiness the beautiful lake and views are well worth it.

We found this property looking for a place to stay on the way back to niagara falls on the way home to USA. We were very pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the property was a beautiful sunset, very clean private area. There is a fire pit, but come prepared with firewood because there was none available on the property during our stay. If all 4 campsites were full, it could feel a little more crowded but still enough space. But on a saturday night, it was only us and one other camper. In the morning, we were given a tour of the farm by Karen who is a wonderful person and you can tell how much love her and her family have put into the farm and the animals. Karen also gave us great recommendations for local things to do like visiting the town of Paris and grabbing a sandwich at one of her recommended spots. Her recommendations kept us in the area longer as we explored what the area had to offer annie and were very pleasantly surprised to find so much beauty in this area. It's the area was safe for our dog although we did keep him leashed up the whole time because of the farm, animals on the property. Thank you, Karen for the beautiful stay, and we hope to return one day.

Weekend Trip to Willow Pond Haven
We had a wonderful stay at Lisa & Scott’s cabin! The space is romantic, spotless, and so cozy — exactly what you want for a weekend reset.
Lisa and Scott were incredible hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed and checked in to see if we were doing okay, without being intrusive. The washroom is clean and accessible, and the whole cabin feels warm and welcoming.
If you’re looking to recharge from work, this place is perfect. The gas station and stores are only a 7-minute drive if you need anything. There are also waterfalls and trails nearby to explore, but honestly we loved just staying in — enjoying the campfire and the pond view.
Overall, we highly recommend this cabin for the perfect glamping experience. Thank you Lisa & Scott!

I had a great stay at Sweet Escape. It was a perfect location for my bike ride in Prince Edward County. The site was pristine and well taken care of. Picnic tables at every site and a gazebo that really helped out for cooking meals when the weather took a turn. Hens and goats walking around reminded me of visiting my Grandpa’s farm. The Porta Potty was the cleanest I’ve ever seen in my life I almost felt bad using it. Chatting with the hosts about adventures was cool, it was a solo trip so it was nice to have some awesome conversation.
This kind of site is was makes HipCamps so unique and fun compared to other generic camping options. I’ll definitely be back!

These campsites are beautiful, I would highly recommend them. I started out at the Ridgeway site, which was great, though the parking is raised up a bit from the site itself. I took the canoe out for a little paddle and saw the Hemlock point site, which is a little more built up with a hammock and screened-in sitting area, and the road descends into the site, so you can drive right into it. I asked Daric if I could switch sites, and he was very accommodating. I only stayed for one night, so couldn't explore as much as I would have liked, but I really enjoyed my experience. Saw tons of birds, and some beavers swimming across the river. The bugs were bad, but that's to be expected in early June, and nothing a good fire couldn't fix. The sites are right on the water (though you can't swim there) with nice views, the outhouses are very clean, and at the Hemlock site in particular there are lots of places to pitch a tent. I tried but wasn't able to find the swimming hole - ask Daric to send you the map of the area via text, as the map he provides in the outhouse doesn't show the exact location of the swimming hole. All in all, a great stay!

Absolutely adored staying on Joan's land. She was super helpful, lots of amenities and everything is labelled so it is easy o find your site. We stayed in the meadow, super cozy and private clearing just a minute walk from the parking lot. Loved that there was a grate for open fire cooking provided. The river was a gorgeous view and kayaks and canoes are available for use. We don't have super great canoeing skills so we passed this time, but will probably try next time! Her dogs are the sweetest. They will steal your food though, so be aware!

Gerry is the best! Super welcoming and fun. Helped me get settled in and is clearly passionate about what he does. I stayed at the Eagles Nest and the combo of the view and the river sounds was so serene. Also, if youre a bird nerd, it is absolutely heaven! Really awesome rustic camping with the convenience of having your car steps away from your site! Loved it.

We had a touchless check-in and check-out, and the detailed video instructions made the process completely seamless. The site was very spacious for our rooftop tent and 4-person tent, perfectly situated right at the edge of the farm and forest. The trails were wide and well-maintained. Our doodle, Aggie, absolutely ~loved~ doing zoomies through them before bed!
The enclosed shower took a little bit of tinkering (we just needed to release the main valve at the very top to get it going). Even with a cloudy night sky that sent us to bed early, we only stayed for one night and found it to be truly a no-fuss, magical experience.
