Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
Learn more about this land: You will be camping on 64 beautiful acres that sits on one of the highest points in Vinton County Ohio. There are plenty of majestic views of the rolling hills of southeastern Ohio. The property has a great mix of woods and open pasture. The primitive campsites are embedded within the woods for an authentic camping experience. There are 2 ponds on the property with the one being stocked with large mouth bass. As you hike the trails, look for the" BIG" oak tree, possibly one of the biggest and oldest trees in the county. You will also see plenty of wildlife, including deer and wild turkeys. The road leading to the property is an old dirt road with potholes...not for small cars. Although the property feels secluded, you are still only 5 minutes from the small town of McArthur. There are many gas stations, a grocery store, and even a McDonalds. Ash Cave and Old Mans Cave are just a short drive away(30-40 minutes). Lake Hope State Park and the intriguing Moonville Tunnel are just s short 20 minute drive away. The 2 campsites are primitive campsites only. There is cell service on the property but no wifi available.

Site #3
Stayed at Site #3, nice spot!
Can confirm site #3 is the best one if you like having a view. If you'd prefer more privacy the others would be better. The camping area is on top of a hill in the area which gives it a little bit of an overlook over surrounding land and a nice view of the sunset/sunrise. We did also see a string of ATVs on the road nearby, but it wasn't a big deal. Didn't use the bathroom or trash so unable to comment on it.

Camping with a view
We loved camping here! The view was breathtaking and Shad and Stacy were quick to respond to questions. Our only regret was not staying longer. I saw some reviews that mentioned the ATVs but it was not that bad. They went by on the road nearby once or twice but it didn’t interrupt our lovely stay. Will be coming back but for more nights next time!

High Point Farm
Beautiful site, amazing views!
We had a wonderful experience camping the weekend at High Point Farm. We stayed at site 3 and were blown away by the amazing views, especially of sunset each night. The site was well maintained and clean upon our arrival, and Shad and Stacy were very responsive to several questions we asked during the booking process. This is an amazing piece of land and we’re grateful the owners have shared it with the Hipcamp community. Note: we read a few of the prior negative reviews and were a bit worried, after staying we can honestly say that you should not heaistate to book this site. This is a very rural area with a few working farms nearby, we mostly heard the sound of cows down the hill but did hear a few Atvs and farm vehicles from time to time. In our opinion this was a very peaceful site and we were not bothered. The portable toilet was a nice feature, it was tucked away into the woods, and extremely clean.

High Point Farm
I had originally written a longer review, but it was too long for this format. The person who posted in May who mentioned the ATV going up and down the road was correct that happened until 930 at night and then again at 1:30 in the morning. The Porta John is in a spot that makes it stick out like a sore thumb. I know it’s a trade-off for the owners and where they put it. There was fairly regular pick up truck traffic on the road going past the property, to a farm, I guess, not too loud, but some folks might not like it. Site 1 where I was didn’t have a view even though site 3 does have a great view, that was disappointing, since the view is so nice. Site 1 is tucked into the woods right off the internal property road. Site 1 had 8 to 10 small stumps and roots sticking out from the ground. most of these were where someone cut down a small tree and left the stump. They were covered with leaf litter. I kept kicking them. Luckily, I had my motorcycle boots on and didn’t hurt my feet. If I had regular shoes on, I think I would’ve hurt my toes. I had to pound sticks in the ground to mark them so I didn’t trip and fall walking around. There were wasps in the Porta John. I’m guessing the owners do not know about that. They do have a picnic table and fire ring which is nice. Seeing that this site was half again or double what I might pay for a regular tent camping site I had higher expectations.
