Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Luna Rosa Chalet is proof dreams evolve with labour and love. The Chalet is a product of a slow-build; developed little by little over a 25-year span. The wood used in Luna Rosa's construction was collected from our farmland then sawed and shaped at a local mill. Style, comfort, whimsy, simplicity and a dose of nostalgia fill this space we hold near our hearts. We hope you love it too! Learn more about this land: A lakefront hideaway tucked in the heart of rural Nova Scotia. Adventurous souls will adore the wide open spaces of this uncharted, waiting-to-be-explored region. Designed and hand built by our family, our chalet-style cabin gazes peacefully upon Fisher Lake. Here, we aim to create a space where one can recharge the soul and embrace life's simple pleasures while discovering an area of Nova Scotia few take time to explore. Be seduced by nature and allow your senses to reawaken  ... Kaleidoscope sunsets, a bonfire's crackling dance, savouring meals alfresco, the feeling of the lake's fresh water on your skin while your heart remembers the freedom of having nowhere else to be.  With only a handful of cottages scattered upon the lake, prepare to soak in all the charms of lakeside living in a relaxed atmosphere. We have seasonal neighbours to the right, yet both properties are separated by the tree line, providing everyone space & privacy. Several nearby waterfalls, unforgettable Taylor Head Provincial Park plus the Musquodoboit Trailway are not to be missed and make for memorable day trips. Whether it's relaxation, adventure - or a little mix of them both,  a lake escape is all what one makes it! The Chalet An open concept design, with knotty pine ceilings; we aim to capture an extended feeling of home, simplicity & nostalgia. The Chalet is equipped with the luxuries of electricity, a kitchen, bathroom and running hot & cold water. (See important info on water conservation before booking!) We want you to be able to focus on relaxing and unplugging - so there is not much you need bring along, save your food/drinks and swimsuits! Cell service is limited and there is no wifi, allowing you to disconnect. The royal King bed awaits dreamers in the loft and the adjacent and cozy reading nook is one of our favourite spaces. An equally comfy Queen bed rests in the bedroom on the main floor. Our floating dock will be in the water mid June - September, though you are welcome to enjoy the water at anytime! Past guests have raved about their invigorating polar bear plunges in the Spring/Fall and then sprinting to the Chalet to warm up by the fire.  You're encouraged to bring your canoes, kayaks and S'UP boards, Fisher Lake makes for effortless paddles, especially at sunset when the lake often turns to glass.  An indoor wood stove is the primary source of heat and keeps the Chalet warm & cozy when needed. Dry indoor wood + kindling will be supplied! Guests should be comfortable using a wood stove, or willing to a learn - we will happily teach you!   Contact us with any questions about Luna Rosa or our area; we're travellers at heart and love sharing where we live with others!
