Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
a largely off-the-grid, truly unique, 420-friendly cabin and YURT in beautiful Livingston Manor. A ‘tiny house’ with every conceivable amenity—full kitchen, hot shower, indoor toilet, woodstove, spacious living room, enormous sleeping loft, speakers for your music, excellent wi-fi—thoughtfully arranged to maximize space and ease of use. The house is at the end of a shale road on a blueberry orchard. Guests are invited to pick all the fruit they like. The hillside’s high elevation provides an oasis of cooler temperatures during every summer heat wave. The panoramic view of the Catskills from the front porch has to be seen to be appreciated. across the property, smack in the middle of the blueberry bushes, is the latest addition to our eco-getaway: a YURT. It’s a slightly larger tiny house, albeit a round one with walls of cloth instead of wood. Like the cabin, the YURT has a full kitchen, hot shower, indoor toilet, woodstove, etc. If glamping is your thing, come and spend a night or two under the stars while sleeping indoors. while the setting is delightfully off the beaten path, it’s also a short drive to the cafés, breweries, and eateries in the charming hamlet of Livingston Manor. World class hiking, swimming, camping, and fishing is even closer. (Camping and hiking gear provided.) perhaps most importantly, our place offers more than a getaway. Guests learn how hygienic a composting toilet is, how easily a spring provides water for one’s home, the joys of heating with wood, etc. A few days on the blueberry patch is both a rewarding glimpse of the sustainable life and an invaluable education in how comfortable a small house can be. If you’re considering procuring your own, spending time in one of ours will help you decide if such a home is right for you.

Site 1 - Catskills tiny house cabin
Marty was a very hospitable host. The tiny cabin was awesome (and inspiring). A perfect spot for a winter stay. Will definitely be considering taking a tiny house workshop from him in the future. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed with everything that was available. From the shower, the kitchen, to the wood stove, and the very generous supply of firewood. It was the perfect girls' weekend getaway. Marty was very communicative, willing to offer a helping hand if needed, but also very respectful of our privacy (which was appreciated). Would definitely book again!

Beware
My girlfriend and I wanted to be off the grid with our fur babies but, realized the door to the cabin did not lock. The host arrived more than once during our stay which made us feel very uncomfortable. He requested “booze” more than once on our first night. The following day he opened the door while we were inside and my dog quickly got up but, it just wasn’t something we signed up for. We decided to pack and leave. I’m just writing this to alert others (especially women) if traveling alone. I must mention the views from the cabin were beautiful even with all the snow. Cabin was small but big at the same time and remained warm. The walk from the car was doable.

Site 2 - Catskills YURT
Martin was an excellent and accomodating host. Throughout the entire process he was communicative and eager to ensure we had an excellent stay on his property from telling us about the ideosyncrasies on how his custom made yurt operated to bringing desserts and teas. I would recommend his place to anyone and would love to return one day.

Superb host with Excellent Yurt!
We loved staying at Marty’s yurt. Aside from having wonderful views, the yurt in itself was an addition to a great experience: gorgeous, well thought out for all your necessities (cooking, showering, etc.), with details in it that added to its charm. They were games, books, magazines of the area listing things to do. Marty was a super host, not only did he let us arrive early but he also let us stay another night for free if we wanted. Communucation was excellent. He thought of every detail, including proving ice crampons for your boots so you wouldn’t fall in the snow.

Cozy Yurt Tiny home w/Amenities
Martin was so welcoming. We got to tour the cabin and his personal tiny home. They do workshops about building tiny homes and he gave us a ton of awesome tips! It rained our entire trip and we were so cozy, still enjoying the views. The layout of the yurt is wonderful and he has TONS of hooks to keep gear organized and dry items by the wood stove. The path walking up is peaceful and beautiful. He had a wagon and wheel barrel to transport our stuff in since we packed a cooler of food. The yurt stays extremely warm and I can't wait to come back when there is snow! Our dogs had a fantastic time too. He has two Bluetooth speakers we used, dishes for cooking and towels for the shower. Although the three tiny homes (Martin's, the Cabin and the Yurt) are fairly close together the privacy is amazing. The blueberry bushes are thick and the wildflowers are everywhere. There's an outdoor fire pit for both crash pads too. He's cleared JUST enough space to use and makes everything feel so beautifully tucked away. Great views and super quiet!
