Best Camping Experience in NY!
We had a great time staying at Camp MoonChild! We are used to remote camping, but the added touches to this campsite really heightened our experience. There was crystal clear well water for us to drink, an abundance of firewood and the perfect height work bench and table to sit at! Ricardo was a fantastic host, helping us with our bags up the slope to Campsite 2, and giving us advice on local attractions. This is a hidden gem! We'll definitely be back!

We had a great time. It was close to all we wanted to do (Grafton, Troy, and great farmers markets). Look forward to returning next year. Thank you 😊 Host was amazing. He even lent us his grill.

Amazing experience!
The site was beautiful and well-maintained. Ricardo was an amazing host! He was available when we needed him and even offered us a walkie-talkie to reach him in case we didn’t have cell service. The hike in is uphill as other reviews mention but it totally doable for anyone in fairly decent shape. While we were there Ricardo finished preparing site #1 for other guests and it was beautiful as well and less of a walk from the parking area. I would recommend either site! Lots a space between the two sites and total privacy. The dry firewood and fresh water provided were wonderful. I would absolutely visit again!

Amazing campsite !!!!
Our 3 day stay here was super exciting!!!! The campsite was beautiful ! Ricardo greeted us at the entrance and used his RTV to take our belongings to the site as it was a nice distance walk. During our stay here we were able to see deers, newts, owls and different types of birds... it was an amazing experience. The complimentary fresh spring water, wood logs, bull horn, lighter fluid and lighter were some of the items Ricardo gave us for our stay. OHhhhhhhh and let me not forget the Walkie talkie As part of his safety routine just in case of an emergency. We loved it so much and will be returning again soon.

A lush, private getaway
We had a lovely stay at Camp Moonchild. We were at campsite 2 which was about a 5-10 minute uphill from the parking lot. The entrance to the campsite is slightly down the street from the address your navigation will take you to. We didn’t get to meet Ricardo in person, but booking was really easy and the campsite was really nice. Trees we used for for hammocks, a giant log turned into a table for cooking, a great firepit, plenty of firewood, and huge barrel of fresh water. Everything you need. The ground was tidy with some wood chips. There were beautiful dragon flies and tiny orange frogs on the trails - the occasion chipmunk. During the day, we drove to some local lakes for swimming and sunbathing. We wanted a lush private getaway for the weekend and this was a perfect spot.
