We have 600 natural subtropical rainforest to explore. The property is bordered on the south by 3km of winding Moodong Creek with breathtaking natural swimming holes to be found dotted throughout the creek. You may see the occasional Wallaby pop past for a drink and the odd Wombat or Goanna. Stargazing at night by your fire is a great way to pass the evening. Direct access to Deua National park at the top of the property via the fire trail (foot or bike only). Stop in at the Araluen Hotel, for a drink, a meal, take in the friendly atmosphere of a historical country hotel. Do some gold panning. Go for a bushwalk or a stroll in the country. Take a drive into one of the surrounding National Parks, The Monga or The Deua are close (direct access to the Deua from our property). The Tallaganda State Forest is great to explore with a lovely picnic ground at Lowden Park. Visit The Big Hole, a 40min drive and then a short walk to see a natural pit 96 metres deep, formed from limestone caves collapsing. Visit the nearby towns of Braidwood, or Bungendore and wander through the antique shops, lamp shops, quilting and craft stores. Just up the hill from us at Reidsdale you can visit the Old Cheese Factory producing and selling local cider and other produce. Batemans Bay and Canberra are just over an hours drive away.Pitch your tent near the fire ring and you are good to go explore the beauty of our natural area. No amenities, its BYO everything to make yourselves at home. 4WD access only at this stage. We ask that you stay within the boundaries of our property which are marked by bright pink tape on trees as you enter and they appear again at the end of our property (not too hard to do as we have 600 acres). The access road is a road used by all residents in the Yellowstone Estate so please keep the access road clear at all times. Bring your pooch if they are used to travelling with you. We don't allow shooting at the property. If you have any questions let us know and we will try our best to accommodate you :)

Mootown Camp
Great stay!
What a great spot! The creek was so lovely to camp by, it took us around 2 hours from Canberra (going through Braidwood) and overall and excellent experience. The signs along the road were especially helpful.

Camping with a view!
We had a wonderful time camping at Mootown. The views were beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful and tranquil environment. The hosts were extremely amicable and accommodating, and were mindful of our need for privacy. We are definitely planning on returning in the future.

Mootown Camp
Back to nature
We had a great nights stay. Easy trip in via 4X4 to the site clearing. Appreciated the use of the gazebo that was already set up, when a shower came through. We enjoyed a beautiful camp fire and enjoyed listening to the creek as we fell asleep. Really enjoyed the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere but only 30min from Araluen.
