Wongalea is a picturesque 4,500 acre cattle property, with a 1 km frontage on the Macintyre River, near Yetman (close to the Qld border). Fish the river for Yellowbelly, Cod or just sit back and relax. Enjoy the abundant birdlife and wildlife. Have a swim, go kayaking or cook up some yummy damper in the campfire. Maybe even a bushwalk in the hills. There is also secluded bush camping available on the property with abundant wildlife! 4WD only. Our picturesque campsite has plenty of room for singles, families and groups. We have room for tents, caravans and campers. Dogs are welcome.

Site 5 - Upper Bank River View Campsites
The views on the site were amazing, you had the river on one side, the beautiful open land on the other. We booked out the site as a group and were able to spread out enough that we weren't cramped in hearing each other snoring.

Fishing Fun!!!
Loved Wongalea Camping & Fishing! Private and lots of room to spread out, the Macintyre River was such a relief for everyone on those hot days! Lionel and Angela were wonderful hosts, look forward to planning our next camp trip!

Macintyre river goodness
Beautiful property right on the banks of Macintyre river. There are some sites higher up on the hill, as well as some right next to the water. Fishing supposed to be pretty good but I didn't have too much luck unfortunately. Even though I saw some fish constantly jumping out of the water and picking insects off the surface. Property owners were nice and checked if I needed anything to make my stay even better. Nearby Kwiambal National Park is pretty incredible with some opportunities for hikes and the highlight being Macintyre Falls.

Site 3 - Upper Bank River View Campsites
One of the best camping spots we have been to for a while. We were running late and Lionel was good enough to wait up for us and guide us down to the river. Hardly anyone else there for a whole week. Caught a feed of yella belly. Took so many shots with my camera of the magnificent variety of bird life and wild life. Was great to get away from the internet, so peaceful and relaxing. We will go back for sure. 🙂
