Terrific Tenting Next To A Stream, New South Wales

The Hawkesbury River is located to the west and north of Sydney, and the River along with its tributary, the Nepean River, almost encircle the metropolitan region of Sydney. The Lower Portland region is semi-rural with small settlements amongst the bush, and access to state and national parks which are great for bushwalking, mountain hikes and wildlife watching. 

The Hawkesbury River itself runs all the way to the ocean north of Sydney but at the campsite there is plenty of opportunity for swimming, kayaking/canoeing and fishing or just lazing about on the river's edge. A couple of kilometres up the road is a lovely cafe bar. This campsite offers the perfect getaway for a wonderful weekender location.

This campsite is located on a large block right on the creek which opens up to the Hawkesbury River. Campfires and pets are permitted however there are no amenities or supplies so you will need to be a fully sufficient camper.
