Byron Bay hinterland campground. Self check in- just follow the instructions. Check out us on Instagram @glencairnestate We just opened a coffee trailer at the entrance of the property - serving premium Barefoot brew (local coffee roaster) coffee every morning 6am to 1 pm. Just 8 km from Byron Bay - 10 minutes drive along a scenic country road, with gentle hills around and magical views. Near all the Byron incredible activities, such as great restaurants, waterfalls, beaches. Well positioned between the beaches of Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads. Incredible privacy and quiet. There are goats (with babies) in a paddock next to Site 2, and a horse paddock with 7 horses in front of the tent only sites (7 to 10). We do have a water tap though to fill your tanks and a couple of electric plugs to charge your essentials (check the small old shed close to Site 1). We have 10 different sites, 6 for caravan / RVs/ tents and 4 for tents only (with access only with 4WD) in two different spots of the property - for a total of 20 guests max. It is a former cattle farm that is being currently reforested to the original Big Scrub rainforest. The proceeds from Hipcamp are used to reforest the land. PLEASE make sure to take your garbage away and remember the campsites are for fully contained campers only (no toilets on site). You NEED to be fully contained to stay in the property. You can enjoy walking around and explore the magic sunsets of the Byron Hinterland. there are a fee billabong/ creeks, with the biggest one next to site 7/ 10 (there is a trail from there).

Site 10 -tents / 4WD only
Such a beautiful property and location! I loved that we were within 15 minutes drive to Byron, Brunswick and Murwillumbah. We loved being able to explore these towns but then also were able to come back and enjoy the serenity and peace at Giorgio's property! Giorgio was lovely and accommodating and we loved that each site had it's own fire pit section too. Also loved that there were goats, horses and even a little coffee cart out the front. We loved our stay, highly recommend!

Site 7 - tents / 4WD only
Very disappointing. After heavy rain the access road and marshland near the campsite was boggy with several cars, including a 4x4 becoming bogged. Campers were not contacted about the conditions and no support was provided. The description saying it could be a little slippery in the rain was an understatement. This campsite is not suitable for wet weather conditions. Even after several days of sunshine another car became bogged trying to get through the muddy marsh and the family had to pitch their tent in the mud. We ended parking where the road was less boggy and trekking up and down the 500 m or do each trip out) there was no offer to assist or relocate us. Luckily the sun dried the tracks enough to get our 4x4 up and back so we didn’t need to cart our camping gear back through the mud on foot when we left, but the other family were bogged that night and not so lucky. The site itself allows for 4 groups in very close proximity. With no toilet facilities and no privacy we felt it was not worth the high fee.

Site 5 - self contained RVs/ tents
We got no warning about the mud driveway, and couldn't find our site in the dark because the white signs don't have site numbers on them. NO WATER. Very overpriced in view of this. Sites beyond ours (5) were a nightmare for campers to access

Site 1 - self contained RVs/ tents
No water, no power, just a cow paddock in nowhere. Total waste of money. Don't bother
