Welcome to Port Macquarie's 'The Hatch Farm'; a pet friendly, interactive animal and fishing farm stay! A 150-acre working farm with a stunning outlook over the saltwater Maria River (with a rustic boat ramp and waterway running into the Hastings River). Located on the Mid North Coast NSW, 4kms off the Pacific Highway, and a quick 13/15-minute drive to the holiday township of Port Macquarie. Port Macquarie is known for its beautiful beaches, coastal scenery and walks, koala hospital, and local strawberry and tomato picking. Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement. The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Friendly pets welcome.

4: SHADY RIVER EDGE
Susan and Bernard were great hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Amenities were sufficient for our group of 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 🐶. Their pack of border collies often visited us as well and were well trained. The highlight would be the free kayaks available for use and the daily nursery tours which kept the kids well occupied. The puppies and baby rabbits (that I now know are called kittens) were sooo cute! Ps. You are on a working farm near the river so mozzies are abound, bring adequate protection to have a pleasant stay ☺️ We will definitely be back.

Loved it!
Bernard and Susan are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The camping space is generous, relaxing and beautiful. The amenities are lovely - quirky and clean, with a rustic feel. Having kayaks available to use on the river was a great bonus. Definitely bring some insect repellent- the mozzies and March flies can get pretty ferocious. The camp was easy to find, and the camp rules were clear and fair (it is also a working farm). Overall, a pretty magical place that is very close to Port Macquarie but feels like a million miles away.

Couldnt be closer to the river
Not the cheapest but absolutely worth it. Owners were very friendly and we had lots of space. Lots of animals and wildlife nearby

Camping on the river
Loved this place! Owners so lovely with the most beautiful border collie dogs (sally what a sweet dog🥹) peaceful place on the river, friendly pigs beside the campsite, kayaking along the river was a highlight - thank you for having us!
