You may also camp in the dam paddock (when available) if you have a 4WD however, you will need to be completely self sufficient with your own porta potty. Maha Farm (Organic Macadamias)

Maha Farm is a small family run macadamia farm that is peaceful and secluded. We are only about 10 - 15mins off the highway, far enough to not hear it. All camp sites are just off the entrance way and are on a ridge making for great views. We are 10mins from the nearest beach. Cafes, fuel and shopping centres are within 10 to 20 mins drive. Bellingen and Coffs Harbour are easily accessed via major roads and are approx 30mins away The property is surrounded by natural bush and backs onto a state forest. Wildlife abound including a resident family of wallabies, birds (we have counted about 7 rare/threatened species), frogs and many more. You are guaranteed to feel relaxed and in touch with nature. That said, it is a working farm and there may be noisy work taking place. We are in the process of transitioning to certified organic. Under Cover Area: All campers have access to a large undercover area (Wallabies Rest) where there is a picnic table, fire place and preparation bench, unless booked by other campers. Fires: Small fires are welcome, just make a spot where you see fit with the fire rings provided. Wood can be collected from the bush areas or purchased from the wood shed. Water: A rain water tank is available to campers for washing up etc Free Extras: Campers are welcome to walk down to the dam to the tyre swing and back. Campers can pick a small bucket worth of macadamias (depending on the season). A nut cracker is provided as a courtesy (usually kept at Wallabies Rest) Purchased Extras: Cracked nuts. Farm and Bush-tucker walk. Infrared sauna. Bunny Patting with our Giant Flemish Rabbit. We are certified yoga teachers, a class can be arranged in our yoga studio. Help on the Farm: There are always jobs to do, let us know if you would like to help out in exchange for staying. Mobile Coverage: There is mobile coverage near by but there is not much coverage at the property, just enough to send a text if you re in the right spot and have the right provider, keep an eye on how many bars you have on your way in and where the last place is you have coverage in-case you need it. Things Near-By Lots of beaches, National Parks, Urunga Lido, Nambucca V-Wall, shopping centres, cafes, fuel. Further afield is Coffs Harbour Big Banana, Bellingen, Waterfalls at Dorrigo. Directions: 99% of the time the GPS maps on your phone work well but here are directions just in case... Don’t take Avocado Road. Stay on the main roads. The only dirt is at the end of morningside drive for about 100m, veer left. All roads to the farm are easily accessible and level for 2WD. For larger rigs though it is tight to turn around onsite.

Yarrawin is 680 acre cattle farm and hardwood timber plantation in the heart of the Nambucca Valley, offering scenic, secluded , private campsites with their own swimming hole and a river gravel beach on 3km of beautiful double river frontage. Camping options include river side camps, the Shack and riverside camp and a large secluded valley. Each campsite is separate from the others, giving guests privacy and exclusive use of the swimming hole (except Chinamans Valley) at their site. All riverside sites offer a natural gravel beach entry into the water. There are no amenities here, campers will need to be self contained and leave no trace. Every site has a fire pit which must be used for campfires. If you want to use your own it must be off the ground. Free firewood and fire pit set up for the first night. Firewood $20/ night after that (CASH ONLY PLEASE), except when camping at Chinamans Valley where you collect your own free firewood for each night. Beautiful drinking rain water is available in a 20lt Jerry can if required on arrival. Bird lovers can enjoy watching the various bird varieties, as well as ducks. Animals include wallabies, goannas, deer and fish as well as cattle and stock horses. Fishing is okay but it is STRICTLY catch and release ONLY. There are many places to go bushwalking, either following the river or heading up the valleys or hiking up the hills through the trees. The property is just 10kms from the convenience of Bowraville, a historic township with a supermarket, folk museum, a war museum, a historic theatre, and other historic buildings. Nambucca Heads and the beautiful surrounding beaches are just 27kms east and Coffs Harbour 80kms away. Please note this is a working farm, so there will be cattle and stock horses on the property that may approach your campsite.

We have some beautiful wildlife that have made our place their home or they often visit... including water dragons, kookaburras, kangaroos and an abundance of other bird life. Valla is located halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, 25mins south of Coffs Harbour and a short few minutes drive to Valla Beach, Macksville, Nambucca Heads and Urunga ... where you’ll find some of the best surf beaches and fishing spots on the Coast. We offer our private concrete boat ramp for access to the Creek for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, SUP boarding, crabbing or to launch your boat. The boat ramp is suitable for boats up to 4m in length. Site 1 is closest to the gate entry and has a firepit, bench seat and bbq table, power is an optional extra. Site 2 is at the rear of the property and has exclusive use of the fully enclosed camp kitchen, firepit and seating, no power available on this site. The boat ramp and bathroom facility is available for all campers to use * our fully enclosed camp kitchen has 1 large picnic table, sink, tank water, hot water service, gas BBQ, slow combustion stove and solar lighting. Outside the camp kitchen there is a firepit with hot plate, seating and umbrellas. Bagged firewood is available for purchase and please check for current fire restrictions before using the firepit. NOTE: The rear of our property has a main train line which gets used a couple of times each day.

When to go

The best time to visit Nambucca Aboriginal Area is during the milder months of autumn and spring, when the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities. Summer can be quite warm, making early mornings or late afternoons the ideal times for exploration. Winter offers a cooler alternative, though some may find it a bit brisk for extended stays outdoors.
