Site 5 - Mount Terrace Self-Contained Camp
Monkey Rock - beautiful, peaceful
We loved camping on this property. A very friendly welcome from Stuart who showed us where to camp. We were moved to the Monkey Rock site which is at the top of the property, far from anyone and very peaceful. Perfect for watching and listening to the birds, exploring the paddocks and taking in the huge starry sky. It was dry when we visited sos there no water in the creek (we were told none since 2022) but it meant the road through the property was dry and easy to do in an AWD and would be fine in a regular car, There was water in the dam near a neighbouring site though, and we had a quick dip which was refreshing if the dam bed was a little muddy. It takes about 10 minutes to drive from the front gate to the site - and the kids loved opening the gates and watching out for dogs, sheep and goats. Though it is nestled right next to the beautiful Warumbungle national park, allow at least half an hour to drive there. Wonderful to go out for the day to explore then return to what felt like your own private campsite.

Monkey Rock Camp
Mountain serenity
Such a beautiful property. Stuart was a great host, very knowledgeable and helpful. We loved having the place all to ourselves. There is lots of wildlife and peace and quite. It's a bit of a drive to the Natiinal Park, but after a day of exploring the amazing Warrumbungles, it's nice to come back to your own 2500 acre campsite...! We were lucky enough to have the waterfall appear off the back of the Bluff after an afternoon storm. Thanks for sharing Stuart.
