We are located in the Dungog Shire, in the Hunter Region of NSW. This area is renowned for its forests, mountains and picturesque river villages. Horseshoe camp is a perfect location for couples or families to get away for a short or extended stay. The Barrington Tops National Park, State Forests, Chichester Dam, river systems as well as the historic and scenic character of the area provide for a stunning experience. There's plenty of sightseeing and exploring awaiting visitors to this area. The seclusion and privacy of Horseshoe camp allows for total relaxation in a beautiful rural setting providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of work and city life. We are a quiet camp and cater for like minded guests who enjoy nature and their own space. Horseshoe was originally a small dairy farm with a history going back to the 1800's. The land comprises fertile river flats surrounded by the Williams River. The higher land comprises mainly forested areas with some sites offering good views over the countryside. There are several campsites to choose from including some situated on the banks of the Williams River. Your choice and subject to weather conditions. Allowing only three sites to be occupied ensures privacy for our guests, Horseshoe camp is only 10 minutes drive, (7km) from Dungog township. Please note, our river sites may not always be available-subject to flooding or boggy access track. The seclusion and privacy of our property allows for total relaxation in a beautiful setting providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of work and city life. We welcome grey nomads, families and sporting enthusiasts such as bushwalkers, bird watchers, fisher folk and cyclists. Our Hipcamp is a quiet camp, and as such we are unable to accommodate parties or large groups. If you are self contained all the better we do however have a flush toilet and water available if needed. Enjoy the plentiful bird life, and natural surrounds, the stars at night, sounds of the river, all from your grassed, mostly level, campsite. Perhaps a stroll around the property or along the riverbank would be to your liking. There is a dedicated firepit area near the large shed, please only use this firepit for your campfire. You can purchase firewood at the local service station or firewood provider in town. Alternatively wood can be cut on site under direction. Bring your own chain saw. We do ask that you take your rubbish with you on departure. The campsite can accommodate small caravans, camping vehicles such as campervans and camper trailers but not large motorhomes or large caravans. Our river sites may not always be available subject to flooding or boggy access track. Located only minutes away from Dungog township all the amenities provided in this area are within easy reach including Dungog Common and the popular Mountain Bike Trail. Pets on leashes are allowed subject to our approval. Please contact us prior to booking as we have cattle on the property.

Dungog Horseshoe Camp
Super quiet and private spot on the river! Plenty of shade and lots of space for the 3 camper trailer/vans we were with. A bit of a walk from the river back to the toilet so easiest to have your own. Michael was a very helpful host, we’ll be back for sure

Michael's land has some amazing spots to camp especially the ones close to the river, or overlooking it! Unfortunately it was raining most of the time I was there but it was still beautiful l and the river water was quite warm! There's plenty of space in the property and many different camping sites. I definitely recommend this place! (One thing to note is that the river sites don't have toilet nearby, only the one close to the shed.)

Dungog Horseshoe Camp
So peaceful and picturesque
Michael has such a beautiful piece of paradise. He was such a lovely, welcoming and accommodating host who allowed us freedom of choice as to where we set up camp. We explored each spot and they were equally picturesque, lush and peaceful. We set up on flat grassy spot about a minute’s walk from the river and thoroughly enjoyed relaxing while overlooking the expansive green fields, mountains and trees. We’ll definitely be back.
