Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba. You'll be just one hour from Sydney yet feel like you're a world away, with the Nattai National Park at your doorstep. Pitch your tent or park your van around either of the two dams and enjoy the view while you keep toasty around the firepit.  There is a walking track on the property you can follow or go for a 20 minute bush walk down to Little River for a picnic and swim. The main house is 3 minutes away so plenty of privacy.  Good news! We now have a toilet available, as well as drinking water and rubbish facilities on site. You'll still need to bring your own shower. Kayaks are available as well. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks to paddle on.  Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Secret Getaway - Buxton
We absolutely loved our stay. Kim add many small little touches like the solar lights on the paths and fairly lights on the toilet. The walk down to the water holes is a good rocky hike but so worth it. The dogs lived their stay too. One of the best hipcamps we've been too. Relaxed, away from the crowds, organised and a gorgeous setting.

Such a gem!
Kim’s place is such a gem! I brought my pup here for his first time camping and he loved it. The camp area had a fire pit, water, clean toilets and plenty of activities around the area. The walk to Little River was also such a delight and the water was so warm. Highly recommend and will be back!

Wonderful spacious site for our group. Kim was very welcoming and helpful. We loved the kayaks on the dam close to our site and swimming in the river was definitely worth the walk. A great weekend camping experience.

Kims property is amazing. Close to the amazing aqua pool and a huge dam onsite to kayak on. She’s added so many personal touches to the site that make the camping experience so nice. Would definitely recommend and keen to come back again in the future.

Christmas camp to remember
Spent 5 nights over Christmas and despite the weather, we all had a fantastic time here. The river was superb for a Xmas day dip and had fun in the kayaks on the dam. Cleanest toilet and attention to detail for hand wash, lights & games etc were great. Hosts Kim & Darren were very hospitable and really looked after us. Lots to do in local area too. Thank you K&D
