Come and camp on the banks of a creek, where the bushranger Ben Hall used to camp with his horses in the mid 1800s! The property is located smack bang in the middle of Young, Forbes, West Wylong and Cowra - taking about an hour to drive to each. The is plenty to do and see in the area, including exploring the nearby Weddin Mountains National Park and Bimbi State Forest. Just 20 minute North is the quaint town of Grenfell. Tucked into the beautiful Lachlan Valley, Grenfell is a fascinating gold rush town with great galleries, historic buildings and superb country pubs. There are also many events celebrating the town’s rich history and culture. Campers will enjoy flat, grassy sites on this 20 acre block. The creek is suitable for swimming, fishing, gabbling and paddling, and is quite wide in spots. This campsite suits self contained campers, who bring their own facilities and leave no trace. The access is via a dirt road (easy drive). You're welcome to bring your dog.Come and camp on the banks of a creek, where the bushranger Ben Hall used to camp with his horses in the mid 1800s! Ben Hall Creek Camp
Great spot for some peace & quiet
John and Margaret were lovely hosts, and we felt welcomed, safe and relaxed for the duration of our stay. The property is not manicured, nor is the creek one that flows, but we loved it and would recommend a stay with them. We had our beloved pets with us and if you pick up after them and be respectful of livestock and other guests then pets will be welcome going forward. Plenty of wood to collect for fire and room between sites so you won't feel like your not getting privacy.

Ben Hall Creek Camp
Great Place To Stay
We spent the Easter Weekend at wentworth Station and it was a great place to camp. Miles of room. The hosts were very friendly and informative. There were some other campers there but the area is so large that everyone had their own spot to to set up. Nice and close to Grenfell. We only live an hour or so away but we will be back for sure. I highly recommend it.

Ben Hall Creek Camp
Easter 2024
This was our first time using Hipcamp and reached out to owners for help with booking. John couldn’t have been more helpful and quick with his response. We are new caravanners and have done the caravan park powered camping, now wanting to try free camping. Wow, the reviews and photos of this camp really don’t show how beautiful this bush setting is. Set up camp and settled in on Good Friday and had a visit from Vince (owner) asking if there was anything we needed and a general chat. Lots of carp in the water to keep you entertained, eating the bugs off the top and flipping. Birdlife was abundant and kept us amused. Easter Sunday we watched the cows being moved from the cattle yards around the Billabong and into another paddock. We had a visit from John and Margaret (owners) with a lovely gift of Easter Eggs in a gift bag. This was a surprise and really made our day. Took a walk on sunset to take photos of all the little quirky items placed by Vince around the Billabong with a campfire set up on each site. This was the best camping trip we have ever been on and well worth a visit. Sunsets and night sky are awesome viewing. We will definitely be back. Thank you Vince, Margaret and John for your hospitality.
