Escudilla Mountain Secret Valley
Needs better directions/Far in
Preface: We are experienced boondockers. We work outdoors and have lived out of our rigs for months. And we are proficient in orienteering and gps navigation
Pros: As described, the site is great for stargazing and we love the rural setting
Cons: The site is a ways off the nearest main road (HWY 60), approximately 9 miles. The route is slow going. ~7miles on an unimproved road at about 20- 25 mph. The last ~2 miles is pretty rough, about 5 mph. The directions are very minimal. Definitely need to be more detailed. Clear signage marking the property as a camping spot and signs directing campers once they got on the property to the actual camping areas would be so helpful.. The site is pretty much a place to park on the property. Which is fine, and doesn’t deviate from the host’s description. But…given the property is not really near any kind of travel route and one could boon dock for free on public land much closer to the nearest main road, we can’t really recommend.

Escudilla Mountain Secret Valley
Angela was an incredible host! We were looking for a camping spot near Springerville, AZ on July 4th weekend. The forests were closed so we needed a spot on private land. We were so glad we found Angela's place! She hopped on the phone with us before our trip to answer a few questions we had. She even met us the day we arrived and guided us to the camping spot. The land is well maintained and surrounded by mountains. We loved feeling the afternoon breeze!!
